Microsoft Band

You absoluetly have to get a protector with these, I had mine for a few weeks and sent it back as sub standard..

Will see what the 2nd version, or 3rd, given its MS and it usually takes them 3 attempts to get stuff right..

Mine has been dispatched.

Now need to source a screen protector.

As regards to a new model, I'll just buy that as well and resale the old one.

Getting this one at a decent price minimises any upgrade costs.

I haven't bothered with a screen protector, but then I wear mine with the screen facing up, not a mark on it and I have had mine since launch.

Same protector I ordered. My band has been dispatched and due to arrive on Monday. When I used to wear a watch I had it screen top side of wrist, same as when I use my polar. Flicking my wrist to see the screen just seems weird to me.
I did note on winbeta that the v2 is officially in the works. So I shall pass on my v1 to wife/child when v2 is out.
Anyway, looking forward to it. Will compare it my Polar when running, hopefully the data will be pretty much the same.

So I got mine yesterday.

Medium fit me fine, with a fair bit of adjustment either way.

Easy to set up and start, sync with my 640XL no problem and battery started off at 80%. Still hovering around 65ish after 12 hours, with a fair bit of messing about. Interesting bit for me thus far is my 6 hour sleep burnt more calories than my typical 10mile cycle.

I should sleep more :p

When is new one coming? I'll be in US in both September and November so thinking of holding out for one of those in USD rather than getting one now

After a week(ish) of use, I'm pleased to say, I'm keeping it.

On top of the steps, HR and sleep information for personal understanding and curiosity, the fitness side of the band is great so far. Been out riding and with GPS on, screen constantly on, I can read my speed, HR and distance at a glance.

The ability to instantly reply a set message or use Cortana without taking my phone out whilst on the bike was a godsend! The only thing I didn't like out of that is the the lag between phone ringing and the band receiving the notification (between 5 and 10 seconds, too long if someone drops it within that time), it's OK for text messages though.

Cortana and Band = awesome. Can occasionally take a little longer than it does on the phone but when I need to be 'hands free' from my phone, with the band on my hand, I have pressed the action button with my other hand or mouth without a problem. (Think dirty hands whilst food prepping vs washing, touching phone and back to job)

Will update as I keep using, especially on GPS and battery life, haven't gone out cycling long enough to judge how fast battery drains with all turned on. So far, I can charge my band when I'm at work due to my vocation, I can't wear any items, so perfect time to charge it.

Well MS confirmed band 2 is coming a few weeks ago.
Now band 1 production has stopped. although they are going to let stock and refurbished stock sell out.

How are MS going to fit all these devices in. Surface, 2 phones, band all before the end of the year.

Returned mine to Amazon. It was uncomfortable for me to wear. Might have been better with a large, as it was open quite fully.

Will be interested in version 2.

Any eta on the band 2 yet?
I'll probably get one, just because, will I keep it or not, who knows...

The leaks still look massive :(, really hope these leaks are fake.
