Microsoft Flight Sim X demo

Ok a heads up,

Im running vista beta 2, and flight sim x sees to run smoother even at higher settings! the graphics look better as well. even the menus seem to load quicker.

my specs are what I would consider minimum for this game

athlon 64 3000 , 1 gig ram , raptor hd, gf6800gt slightly oc.

anyone else had chance to run demo with vista? vista has dx10 built in not sure if this is being used in the demo.

pretty disapointing tbh. When in cockpit mode I can't see outside? eh?

Also its a demo, you can do very little with it other than the three things they give you to try.... but MS still wants to ruin that by a 15 minute flight limit on that? BS.

don't know, could be me I'm hardly an expert on FS I've not played it since FS98. But when trying to land on a sodding runway, you'd expect when you use the keypad to look around to see more than just sodding grey! Initially I thought it was a zero vis flight

Other views are ok, but I can't seem to change the view to the tail view of the aircraft...

I am pants at flight simulators tbh :p

You can add extra aircraft to it! Check out my post above, I've added the WoP Ta-152H which works perfectly. Other people have added all manner of FS9 aircraft.

Running at almost full settings and the game is alright, a bit glitchy but hey it's a demo.

I couldn't land properly with the big plane though, it took me 3 tries to get on the ground and even then the game wouldn't tell me I'd completed the mission.

It's alright though, the proper game should be good.

EDIT: Just managed to do 'Layover in Paradise'! was quite proud of myself

Sorry to resurrect this old post, but I just installed the demo today from a cover disk and I really liked it.

But I got some real bad jaggies on the graphics. I took the microlight up at St Martin for a spin, I had all the graphics on the highest and it was really smooth, but the frame of the microlight was really jagged - I thought AA was supposed to eliminate this.

My system is 4800+, 2GB RAM, HIS XTX1900, with the 6.8 drivers. Resolution is 1620 x 1050 I think (Dell 2007WFP).

Am I doing something wrong?
