Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

Ah, the full install is under 12GB.
So the reason for the load times is that it's trying to stream content, and clearly they're overloaded. On top of that, if any authentication is happening in the US, that's not going to help as they come online.

I'll go fly my F18c a bit...

Was stuck at 97%, read that MS have suggested restarting, so have just done so and it's started going through the entire process again, if it sticks at 97% again I'll leave it until tomorrow. Hopefully Stalker will be less problematic tomorrow evening.

/Edit: Nope stuck at 97% again, hopefully MS will have resolved the issue by tomorrow.

What a disastrous launch … stuck on 0% loading language for the last 30+ minutes. Makes MSFS 2020 launch look like a masterclass.

Managed to get as far as creating my character, keep getting servers not working messages now

Awful launch, MS should be ashamed :P

Straight up ******* abysmal launch. Unforgivable for such a big studio to tank a game launch like this these days.
Its getting review bombed on Steam as we speak "overwhelmingly negative".

Clearly you have never experienced an MMO launch, this is literally a mickey mouse issue compared to some launches.
Steam clowns posting negative reviews and they havent even played the game.

Not recently. I tend to stay away from MMO's in general these days.
Steam review bombing is an effective way of showing discontent. Its bad that it has to be done that way. However, thats the risk you run if you cant release a game properly.

Microsoft/Asobo at fault entirely, it's not like they are a little tin pot developer struggling with unexpected demand, can't disagree with people leaving negative reviews for being unable to play a game they paid for.
