Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

The flightplan is setup in the EFB, and I think its at least setup in the avionics as the map is showing the pink line.

I have managed to get the VNAV (vertical) and autospeed working. However, the LNAV wont engage and I dont know why.

I have both flight directors switched to on, AP master switched to on, as I said the VNAV and auto speed both work so the autopilot is definitely controlling the plane, I have LNAV switched on (and as you can see the LNAV button is showing green) but it wont follow route mapped into the GPS.

Also you can see on the main left screen, whilst FMC SPEED, VNAV and ALT are all showing green, LNAV is grey.

Thing is bugging me and I dont know what Im doing wrong.

Haven't actually flown with this yet, despite having it installed since Day 1. Going to give it a try over the Christmas holidays, hopefully they've fixed some of the major issues before then...

A significant update (patch 3) is scheduled to land this week.

I figured out the autopilot in the Beoing 737-max, I think......what I was doing wrong was that, before you take off, you need to look at your flightplan in the avionic computer on the plane. For some reason, some of the legs will show as invalid and say there is discontinuity (or something like that) its a little fiddly, but you need to click on the waypoint after the broken one, then click the broken one, and the one after replaces the broken one.

Anyway, I took off and crossed into the course path and the LNAV kicked in and now the plane is flying itself.

The autopilot on these things is crazy though, other than setting flaps and dropping the gear, it basically does everything else, including flying at the various altitude levels and keeping the correct speed. You basically dont have to do anything.

Its just setting it all up.

Has something changed in the way Flight Sim handles updates? I was expecting an updating dialogue of some kind. I just went straight in though, as normal. However, the version number is now 1.2.7.0 when I press R for release notes. Perhaps it did it in the background? I am on the MS Store version.
