Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Cheers Guys will take a look and se what I can sort out.

Thanks for the updated links as well to the VATSIM site.

Anyone hearing anymore rumours about SP1, keep checking the blogs etc, but it's all a little quiet at present.

It should be released on 30 April 2007 unless there are any unexpected problems that the current beta 2 test uncovers.

Where can i find some Aircraft carriers on FSX?
You can find them by flying around the following airports.

  • Naval Air Station North Island (KNZY), San Diego, California, United States
  • Naval Station Norfolk (KNGU), Norfolk, Virginia, United States
  • Apra Harbor (SW of PGUM)

Thanks.

What sort of Conroe spec would i need to get most of the settings on High or there abouts? What Graphics card too?

Currently theres not a CPU or GPU able to do that really. Later in the year perhaps. FSX was developed with an eye to the future so it would still look good in a few years time etc. Just like most people can now run FS9 at max now but not when it first came out.

A little bit more news on SP1, looks like it could still be the end of the month, or at least quite soon afterwards.

Can't wait for this patch really hoping it improves the fps of the game so that I can crank up the detail a little bit more. The use of the two cores on the intel chips sounds like a real good thing. Only problem is it tempts me to upgrade to the quad core processor that O'C have currently got advertised.

Where? Looked. Still could not find any. lol

Has this game got any tutorials? The sort of ones where you have to complete certain tasks before being allowed to fly certain planes or anything like that.

It would ruin (well not so much ruin but make it less likely to hold my interest) it for me if I could jump right into the cockpit of an Airbus a380 or whatever its called. I would like to progress first then be able to fly those things.

I remember doing the tutorials on FS a century of flight. Printing off the Certificate of my first solo flight. It still on my wall infront of me now:D

There is the same type of lessons and tutorials in FSX as in the old versions, but you could still fire up free flight and jump in a 747 as you always could. As you say it's much more rewarding to go through the lessons and read the associated background on the sections.

for interest I definately get better performance in Vista for FSX than I did in XP .. noticeably better.

BUT - Vista RC2 - completely stable in FSX

Now I've bought full Vista -I'm getting CTDs in FSX - any ideas ?

I get either:
