Microsoft Surface RT Priced

But most consumers won't compare like for like, they'll just pick up the cheapest option.

Anyone even vaguely aware of Apple products is going to be clued up on the capacity based pricing strategy, considering its the only differentiator in Apples product range. So comparing devices based on capacity is fully valid. Spec, connections, OS etc are meaningless. Joe Bloggs consumer is going to see two 10" tablets with x amount of storage for £x.

16GB would have been fine, MS are not evil and provide a microSDXC slot.

However the price of memory makes little difference to the production costs.

Err what the **** is that second advert

Does the surface have a tegra 3 processor ?.

Full specs are here

As for 64Gb model, there's always people like me, willing to pay the extra (same as for 3G) who want large storage space with no hassle and I would be using the max sd card size (I assume its either 32 or 64Gb can't see it listed) on top off that as well.

32Gb ipad is far to small :( and I have to keep moving files about. I just like my entire collection on the device permanently.

Oh and more importantly remember these are also highly targeted at Coporations.

Anyone with a remote interest in media will discard 16Gb as its far to small. 16Gb is purly a web browser, simple game player.

I hope your right, but with the move to cloud storage and streaming content I'm not sure. Suppose the only way to find out is to wait and see how well they sell.

Streaming content is all good and I love it. But I can't use cloud storage for movies. Other than as a back up. Fast mobile Internet is still extremely patchy and even in non patch areas its slow.

Beat ya ^ ;)

Used to think that way too, but 64GB isn't enough either without managing it regularly. But at least you've got the option for removable media. I just stream everything from home now - practically unlimited storage :)

I tend to agree.

Just pre ordered mine after having to convince Lloyds TSB that the purchase wasn't fraudulent.

The pre orders charge you now?
Says not here:

"If you have purchased a pre-order product, you will receive an additional email when your product becomes available. You will not be charged for pre-ordered products until the product is available."
