*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

When is this meant to be out officially ?

According to the first post:
So it’s coming it will be live streamed by Microsoft for the new upcoming OS.

24th for your calendar people…

> Windows 10 was released on 29 July 2015.....
> It's been reported that Microsoft will no longer be using version numbers for their OS.

So guessing we find out then.

I hope they drop the requirements of SecureBoot and TPM 2.0 in order to install Windows 11. I haven't tested my own machine yet (7th gen i5), but I've already got one laptop (1st gen i3) which Windows 11 turns its nose up at. :(

Wow i didnt realise Win 11 was a thing, i must keep p with news more.

I just assumed Win 10 was going to be updated and refreshed forever or something along those lines.

I might try that later, but I don't like the idea of fudging around with Windows installation images just so they work - but for this laptop, it won't really matter I suppose.

In better news, all I had to do was change Discrete TPM to Firmware TPM in my Asus BIOS and Windows 11 would happily install - something I might do during this weekend.

I did actually, mad I know but I had nothing to lose, all of my media is on seperate drives and I only really browse on this machine, happy to say it runs like a dream anyway!
