They have removed up time from task manager which is annoying.

How are we supposed to see up time now.

(I think we can do it by typing systeminfo in command prompt).

You can just write your own powershell debloater and run it once you have installed windows.

I think I need a bit of help as getting confused.......

Currently running Windows 11. I have tpm on mobo but I had to use the reg edit to install it as my cpu is old.

I'm getting no updates regarding the 22H2, but I've read that you can update Windows by downloading the ISO. But wouldn't that just reinstall Windows??

I got the 22H2 via Windows Update and i think it may have reinstalled windows anyway.

I have a "Windows.old" folder on my C drive again.

You will, do a disk cleanup if you want to get rid of it.

Anything worthwhile in this update? Have they fixed the right click on desktop menu? Or is it still awful?

I did a clean install of windows 11 recently but did not get latest version as I am only interested in a local account. My understandimg is if I upgraded now I can still keep local account. But in no rush to update right now as I can’t see anything special in this build.

Not sure what people at MS were thinking with the new menu. It is awful.

So when i installed 22H2 I also installed the latest nvidia drivers and AMD chipset drivers.

Got the stuttering and lagging in games thats well documented. The recommended fix didnt work so i rolled back to 21H2 and the older 512.95 driver. Problem went away.

So today i installed the latest driver on 21H2. Bang the stuttering is back. So is it possible the driver is at fault rather than the newer version of windows?

Then with 22H2 without the nVidia driver update does it stutter then? It could be a combination maybe?

Ill reinstall the 22H2 update tomorrow and see what happens

I thought the nvidia updated drivers were supposed to fix the stutter?

I didnt know about but there is a later bios availalbe for my board. I didnt have an issue on previous Win11 release tho so not sure if it could be that

I would suggest updating to the latest bios, make sure you don't lose power while it's updating though.

hey guys, when building a pc from scratch, what is the most cost effective way to get windows 11?

i have win 10 on a laptop i'm using (came with it) - if that helps!

You could get a windows 10 key (oem / retail) and then upgrade to windows 11. I think you might also get away with getting the latest Windows 11 ISO, create a boot key and use windows 10 key. As long as it matches the version i.e Windows 10 Pro with Windows 11 Pro.

so i need to just pay for a key for windows 10 pro for example, download the windows 11 ISO (pretty sure it's free from Microsoft website?), load that on to a USB then away i go!

Thats right. You can get it from MS directly.

Download Windows 11

You just need a legit key and you good to go. Use a tool called RuFus (latest version) to create a USB boot. Try make sure it's a USB 3 stick and shouldn't take long to make.

Recently I had my first case of Windows just deciding to restart for updates, rather than doing what I wanted which was resume from having the lid closed.
Alongside this latest update comedy, and sleep in general seeming a bit cack, I deeply dislike the OS.

I've always liked messing about with computers but it's 2022, we should be way passed this.

I guess it's only been out a year, it's not enough time to fix all of the problems.

Because one of my pcs is too old for win 11 in keeping everything on 10

What is happening is eventually you are forced to move over to new systems when software becomes that outdated things don't work correctly.

My PC didn't pass the Win11 check/test so I'll be on Win10 until I upgrade, which is likely long after support ends for 10!

Neither did mine but it still got it forced onto it.
