Well I had the same prolem going back to windows 10, Task Schedular still wouldn't wake the pc up... So I upgraded win10 back to 11 in the hope to jiggle things and make it work, but na Task Schedular still wouldn't wake up the pc... Anyway 2-3 days ago Task Schedular started waking up the pc.. WTF is that all about?

Slowed down from 120fps recording to 60fps - The slickness of 11's min/max animations are very pleasing to the eyes.

I swear 9 year old me was writing better quality code than the people working on Windows 10/11.

Maybe the 9 year old should have worked for Microsoft. Might have got some good OS then.

I wouldn't call that user error. The OS should not be able to decide when the PC gets rebooted.

If that was the case users would just never reboot if they could get away with it. It's scheduled for a reason!

Rightly or wrongly, that's up to the user. It's their machine and entirely up to them how they use it. If it's a corporate machine I'd accept it but on my own hardware I DECIDE when the machine restarts.

You can decide when the machine reboots, it's called a schedule!

If you haven't set it then that's your fault.

People don't really work like that - it is a model of the user MS seems to think is how everyone uses their system but it isn't reality.

Well you can't have it all ways you either install on schedule or install on manual. Microsoft don't know when you want to do your updates so if it's an important one they force you to reboot no matter what you in the middle of.

Makes sense to me.

As the end user you'd expect to have it all ways... the entire purpose of an OS is to enable the end user - something MS seems to have forgotten. I'm not sure if you are trolling or have been cucked by MS.

People do have it all ways they can either schedule or manually install updates.

What's your point? or has Microsoft cucked you too.

Honestly though even if you followed that, and the average user shouldn't have to, updates in Windows 10/11 would make that a chore - almost any time I switch a Windows 10/11 machine on these days if I'm not blocking updates there are 3-4 updates it wants to install unless I'm using the machine basically daily.

Well then maybe they should do micro updates in the background whereby you don't need to reboot.

KB5026446 should be optional, but on my machine it installed when I checked for updates. Not really a problem for me, but it would be nice if Microsoft didn't automatically install updates intended for preview.

It’s not officially meant to go out as forced only optional. Did Microsoft just cause mayhem again?
