Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

Running the 14.7 drivers at the moment but have tried the latest 14.9's as well as 14.4's. Makes no difference to the game. Most frustrating thing is that I can play it still but at random moments the frame rates just crash for about 10 seconds before stablising.

I'm with Dev here, had Crossfire but it only used 1 card so got rid of it and it's still running everything on max at 1440p.

You really should have found out how to work around it in this game and get proper xfire usage, just like SLI users had to :)

The instructions have been posted multiple times in this thread.

I know how it works, I just plan to upgrade my cards when the new 20nm ones come out and I don't want to lose too much on the resale value.
Right now I can play everything at max with one card so makes sense for me to get a decent return on the other card which isn't needed at the moment.

Fair enough. I guess you're not playing very demanding games in that case, or you're not including AA when you say maxed out @1440p?

Out of curiosity, what games were you having trouble with xfire usage?

Don't care if they're demanding or not to be honest I'm happy with the way they play. You're probably right I've not got AA maxed but textures and shadows etc in the games I've played are.

I've not had any problems with crossfire so think we've got crossed wires somewhere, one card is enough till the new release.

Whats the tactic for killing the huge Troll like monsters, i can stun it with a charged headshot but dont see ways to do any decent damage to them before getting stomped etc.

A *bit* wasted at 1080p tbh, but that wasn't a surprise.
I just rock it because I had the hardware and figured it would good for a laugh :D

More often than not, I use two cards unless I want to see extra silly fps in Bf4 or for fully maxing Crysis 3 or something.

Kinda waiting for more 1440/144hz monitors (with or without 'freesync' when/if it ever turns up) or I'll just stick with two and get rid of the third.

Man im loving this game, I'm trying to do as many side quests as i can before continuing the main story (where it lets me) currently done all the survival, artifacts, ithildin, bow legend missions, only got 1 hunter mission left and 1 sword legend. Think I'm on mission 13 or 14 of the main story.

I've pretty much spent my entire weekend, every waking hour i could playing this :D

Although i've found no matter how good you are you WILL get angry at a high level berserker captain who can't be flurried, jumped over or be hit from range AND gains all his health back every time he hits you (and appears to be impervious to stealth, combat executions etc...the list goes on). That was just ridiculous....chose to run from that! :p

Just played a couple of hours and really enjoyed it.

mostly just done some hack and slash and running around but looking forward to getting into the nemesis system.

Any tips for a new player ?

One tip that new players forget is run away if you have too. There's no shame in running away.

Second tip, if an Orc/orcs say they'll raise the alarm try your best to stop them, otherwise sugar really hits the fan :D

Do you get any reveals if you complete Ithildin stuff? I completed it but haven't done that :P

I really really like how how they've actually made the controls configurable, and what's more, easily playable on mouse/keyboard. I missed out on Batman because all the key bindings were displayed as xbox controller /rolleyes

Loving the combat. Executions never get old. Although I hardly ever autoattack now, it's just flurry + F, flurry + F, hop over a spearman, flurry + F, until they're all gone :)

Does anyone bother with ground executions? Even with the upgrade they take way too long.

Completed this on Saturday, except for a couple of the collectable missions and thoroughly enjoyed it throughout.

That ending though, really? Why is it so hard to get the end of games right.

Cool, getting into it, feeling a little lost, it's as though the story was slapped on as an after thought.

Also, the normal walking FOV is so painful... Any way to adjust this so the character doesnt fill 80% of the screen?

Anyone know how to adjust the FOV? It's really giving me a headache :(
