Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

39% in, and just made it into the second map. If you think the first map looks great, wait until you see the second map, absolutely gorgeous...

Really annoying that I keep crashing out due to memory restrictions on ultra, it runs it fine :(

Will have to make do with high.

Anyone get sweetfx to run, using that profile? Are we placing the sweetfx folder etc in the x64 folder in game folders?

Ta

yes, put all the Sweetfx 1.5 (1.51 Baulotaurs+Ceejays versions for 8.1) files into the main directory of the game where the mordor.exe file is (inside the x64 folder) then replace the settings.txt file with the downloaded version I linked. Make sure you rename it as the original settings file you're replacing.

Failing that, if its still not working, try turning off your overlays, MSI Afterburner etc and try again. Finally if its still not working, install RadeonPro and inplement the core sweetfx files and the downloaded settings file through RadeonPro, it will work. Guide here if you need https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X1CrTYyV7o

Whelp had enough and uninstalled. There's just nothing left for me to do bar scratting for the collectables and I don't give enough of a **** about achievements to bother. The Nemesis system seems to be a whole lot of nothing, at least until modders can hopefully do something about challenge level

Did sacrifice myself to the most powerful Uruk I could find before uninstalling so hopefully anyone with me on their friends list at least gets a half decent Vendetta mission out of it.

Finally completed, took me 27 hours in the end. That was to do all the challenges, missions etc.

Been along time since I've done that in a game, last 1 was probably the original Batman Arkham game.

I don't think it's intended to be the type of game that you sick a hundred hours into  is that what you were expecting? I don't see myself playing it once I've done the story, and I'm fine with that.

Wasn't expecting that, but given the press behind this nemesis system I was expecting at least to have a little system to play with, instead it boils down to randomly generated Orcs that pose little more challenge than a regular one except taking 3 finishers.

My enemies were starting at Level 15, going to level 20 after a death threat, they still didn't pose a significant enough threat to keep me interested. I was taking on strongholds of the warchief and his 5 bodyguards without an issue, now as I asked 2 pages ago before you started rambling about enemies jumping from lvl 7 to 13 instead; the rest of the world seems to agree that enemies cap at lvl 20 so what are you doing to get them to these levels?

Cool, getting into it, feeling a little lost, it's as though the story was slapped on as an after thought.

Also, the normal walking FOV is so painful... Any way to adjust this so the character doesnt fill 80% of the screen?

Been playing this a bit less this weekend. Upgraded my GPU from a 6970 to a R9 290 and now the game stutters like mad when transitioning through the menus and also ingame randomly dropping the frame rates from 70 to 11 before shooting back up.

At least I'm not alone going by the url below so I submitted a bug report earlier.

That's odd, I'm okay on a 290 (2 to be precise, but only using one) running w8.1 with 14.9 drivers. What drivers you running?

I'm with Dev here, had Crossfire but it ran well enough using 1 card so got rid of the second card and it's still running everything on max at 1440p.
