Middle Earth: Shadow of War

Reviews for the game tend to say avoid, but reading comments above seems positive.

Worth a buy?

TBH I'd buy Shadows of Mordor and if you enjoy that and don't get too bored then pick this up by all means. SoM is real cheap these days and still looks and plays great. GOTY edition with all DLC (I think) £3.49!

It's far too similar to the previous one, in this one you have to try to build an army using captains etc that you have forced to join you and then attack fortresses but it's just an endless grind and as yet I've not reached the point to command my Orks to attack in force

Has anyone had a captain take your sword and break it? Git! Had this last night. Level 22 captain now 23. He’s a huge ogaliath? Tried to take on the challenge to get my sword back to kill him with his regenerating health. Low and behold, I swear 7 captains all appeared in the area.

I dread to think what this is like on Gravewalker difficulty.

yeah had this just play it smart

It’s one of those areas in act 2 in the lower part of the map where a huge door opens with endless spawning orcs. Let alone it didn’t help that quite a few captains are runners with those exploding things they throw that runs red and black trails. That is the thing that keeps depleting my health.
