***Midweek Football***(Spoilers within)

All you Benitez haters should go register on RAOTL and educate yourselves. Seriously, stop being fooled by the media and learn what the real problems at the club are.

I maintain that Benitez is the best that we can hope for at this current time.
Criticism against Benitez and so we need to "Educate" ourselves? Get off your high horse and stop being ridiculous

Myself and many other fans know exactly what Benitez has and hasn't done during his time here, its not a matter of simply reading a fact sheet and thinking you know whats what. The question is can you judge football and do you have common sense, this is what Liverpool fans are renown for- knowing football, and this is why we give managers the time they deserve to create something, while supporters of other teams at this point would already have their bags packed and their flights booked.

The yanks ARE a disgrace and until we get new owners with a wallet that actually exists then we wont ever win the league. At the start of the season we where already falling behind the rest of the big boys because of the lack of funds to bring quality in. However to say the problems on the pitch (and every other problem we have) is down solely to the owners is absolutely ridiculous, and quite frankly, pathetic.

Benitez' managerial decisions regarding his handling of players on both professional and personal levels, especially youngsters, his stubbornness with regards to tactics and using certain average players, and what he has done with the money he has had over the years (which is quite a sum btw) is all considerably questionable. But yeah you know, if you've got blind faith go for it, but dont tell other fans to go educate themselves because you've decided to take the "blind faith root." During these times we should ALL be seriously analyzing and questioning every aspect of the club because we should NOT be out of the CL and in such dire straits at this time of the year.

On the plus side, at least ITV are breaking out the champaigne at the prospect of moving their lolleague onto ITV1 on thursdays, as liverpool might actually get some audience compared to the oh-so-great Fulham, Aston villa et al.

Yes, i went there :O

That is true, but I'm sure they will still mess up the coverage. And they have Andy Townsed as a pundit/commentator. Man, I hate him.

Theres nothing more amusing then watching ITV's failings at commentry over the years.
The last giggle came when spain were on ITV, whoever it was at the time continued to mix up Silva and Senna, dispite their names being printed on their shirt..
Oh, and 1 is black with no hair and 6 foot 5 or so, and the other is pale and not even 6 foot.
But i see how that can be difficult to get right.

LOL, that reminds me of a Liverpool game I watched recently, David Pleat Called Benayoun, Benyanoun, Bennynoon, Benyanan. Basically everything apart from his correct name. lol David Pleat.

Look at the players he highlighted and we never got due to parry being a slow clown or the cancers draining all the finances though.
Alves, Pato, Ronaldo, Vidic to name but 4, they were all ready to dot and cross but no financial backing and / or parry dropped the bomb, rafa's left looking for scraps.
You cant question his ability to pin point good players. Unless someone wants to tell me they are poor players? :o

Ronaldo signed for Utd before Benitez became Liverpool manager. I also love how Parry gets all the flack for transfers falling through, it happens at every club. It's also ironic that Benitez gets all the praise whenever Liverpool sell a player at a higher fee than they were signed for yet he can't possibly be criticised when one of his signings flops. Benitez does have a reasonable point with the owners, but bringing up money in every single press conference is really tedious.

Is there some joke going on on Sky as to who can grow the best tash? The bloke off of Soccer AM, Merson, the Scottish bloke who I can remember the name off & now Souness

Hehehe, I actually like the Souness moustache. Reminds me of the Souness I grew up watching play, never really quite got used to him after he had shaved it off, just didnt seem like Souness :)

Inter showed up Serie A for what it is tonight. From what I saw they hardly had a kick against a Barca side that are far from their best, and were missing Messi and Ibrahimovic.
Fiorentina were lucky to get away with the win. In the last ~10 minutes the ball just seemed to be bouncing off their goalie from all angles. They got very nervous and could easily of been punished.

Anyone can pinpoint good players. Rafa just seems to have a great ability for signing players with potential that never materialises. Or average players that we are told are the next big thing.

Sure, we have been outmuscled in the transfer market financially but there are still gems to be had. Look at the likes of Arteta, Cahill, Ashley Young, James Milner- all who would improve our squad and haven't cost the earth to the clubs signing them initially.

I have to agree with that, after seeing the Barca Vs Inter highlights, I was shocked, but how do one of Serie A teams *nearly* always manage to reach he CL final?

So then he was also (partly) responsible for selling players at a higher fee than Liverpool bought them for. :p

He bought Voronin. He also paid something in the region of £17.5m for Johnson. He is a great coach, not so much a great manager. IMO
