***Midweek Football***(Spoilers within)

Torres
Drogba
Higuain
Aguero
Villa

No he's not in the top 5 let alone top 3

Very good and unique player mind you

I would even guess Messi (On last seasons form anyway) would be better as a CF.
And then theres Ronaldo too.
Eto'o?

All probably have a case when it comes to being ranked higher imo.

I do like VP though, effective - different kind of player.

It's just another stupid comment from Merson, I don't now how he pulled the Sky gig. Saying that, Andy Gray isn't that far behind him.

Meh, Aguero has been so so recently, Higuain has been good but not outstanding.

At the moment the players who are playing the best football I'd say is

Drogba, Torres, Ibra, Suarez, RvP, Villa, Pato

However this is all on this season, not before.

We need a bigger squad so he buys more players of a lesser value. People moan we don't have enough quality so he sells a few of those players and buys one or two big money players. Now they're injured and the size of the squad is a problem again.

We simply don't have the money to buy top quality for every position while maintaining a big squad. It's one or the other until we get wealthy owners that are prepared to spend money.

I dont think he has really done well in the transfer market though and has spent a heck of a lot on youth players that just disappear. Hobbs, Anderson, Antwi, Leto etc.

Where he has spent medium amount of money, Babel and Reira for example, they have been poor buys. £10m should get you a lot of player but it really has not worked out for those two.

Granted, to buy top quality we need the financial backing but look at what the likes of O'Neil and Wenger do in the transfer market with similar budgets.

Higuain has been single handily been keeping Madrid's challenge alive while Ronaldo has been injured, he's been the best player by a mile. Aguero is playing in a struggling team but has still managed to score 8 times (the same as Van Persie)

What about Pato?

I dont watch Italian football so cant really comment, he looked brilliant against Madrid though

What about Kaka and Benzema and Alonso et al??

Look at the players he highlighted and we never got due to parry being a slow clown or the cancers draining all the finances though.
Alves, Pato, Ronaldo, Vidic to name but 4, they were all ready to dot and cross but no financial backing and / or parry dropped the bomb, rafa's left looking for scraps.
You cant question his ability to pin point good players. Unless someone wants to tell me they are poor players? :o
