Midweek Football Thread - 18th/19th

i see that world class striker shola ameobi has scored again!

Thing is I always thought he would make a decent Championship striker, in fact I had originally intended on putting him in my "Make-or-break season" thread when I first envisaged it. He's been waiting seemingly forever for a chance to lead the line at Newcastle, I think he's the sort of player who could play a big part in any push for promotion.

Burnley won't be able to keep this up for 90 minutes anyway.

The guy up the front whose name eludes me this second, he doesn't give up and won't give up. Thats largely the mistakes Chelsea and a couple other teams made. Burnley play good football, they're defending well and passing well.

They are simply keeping their defensive shape well and defending better than Utd attack, their strikers might tire, but their defensive won't get sloppy nor will they give up.

Utd really need to realise how average some of their team has become and playing too many average players leaves performances like these.

They should bring in Berbatov, rooney to left wing again, Valencia right and see how it goes. Rooney's just not a striker and looked so much more consistant, more involved and more dangerous starting at left wing.

EDIT:- Blake, such a dumb tackle, and a touch harsh, he slid in to block the shot, Evra had passed the ball already and went over the player rather than the tackle taking the player.....

SAVE.

If only we had Chops and Shola up front...

50goal season partnership right there

would have given Shearer and Ferdinand a run for their money :p
