Midweek Football Thread. *spoilers* 25-27

I hated the fact that he dived, I hate it when i see any player dive!

To a point where i no longer enjoy watching football as much as i used to :(

I was going to write a huge post about how i feel, but thought better of it, but suffice to say it upsets me!!

It was a dive in my eyes but the way everyone has reacted to it is pretty amazing considering it probably happens at least once in every premier league game. For him to get banned would mean that everyone who dives in future needs to, without a special "diving panel" to analyse games this isnt going to happen.

It's brought up in exactly the same way everytime there is a dive as blatant as the one from last night. Particuarly if it works and cons the ref.

That's a lie, I can't remember a reaction on this level from the Pederson dive, a few people laughed but there wasn't outrage. That was only a few months ago. I could probably pick out a dive a week in the prem, nobody cares.

Dive or no dive (and it was a dive :p) Arsenal were going to thrash Celtic anyway, as Cliffy said, it happens most games. Let's just move on, the argument is boring now.

So, Man City playing tonight. Who wants Palace to win? :D

What people calling for them to be banned and UEFA investigating? I don't remember that happening before and i've seen some much more blatant ones in higher profile matches too.

That's because...

A. It was hilarious.
B. It was never gonna work.
C. Nothing came of it and he was booked. IIRC...

Um, it was Arsenal, English people love to hate Arsenal, especially the press. They won't concentrate on the fact that Celtic could have been playing for 20 hours and wouldn't have scored, that's not important.

Fact is, him diving is made worse by the fact that Arsenal were clearly the better side.

I don't care about the dive - what should be banned is Arse-shavings little finger to the mouth 'shush' celebration. Every time I see it I wish someone would ram that finger down his throat!

Thats a bit harsh! What's wrong with it? Dont like Russian people obviously.

Even though i'm a Rovers fan, it was still a dive. We shouldn't just care about the ones that don't end up in bookings or laughable moments, this won't help to stamp it out. If every dive was punished players would soon learn not to do it. I know it can't be done during the game, but an investigation after followed by a potential match ban would act as a major deterrent.
