Midweek Football Thread *spoilers*

Surely Hughes needs to be sacked pronto, 1 win in 10 games isn't good enough for the richest club in the world. They should get a new manager in while there's still time for him to have some input on transfers in January.

Not a good performance or result for Arsenal, but that's to be expected I suppose when most of your front line are missing. Even still, Arsenal should have tied the game up before half time when they had about 4 easy chances. Arsenal desperately need a clinical player up front, the amount of wasted chances are crazy

Which is what ive been saying for the past few weeks now...without RVP we are useless in front of goal.

Geez 1-1 draw is all we can manage against a lower end team :/...it really really narks me off that we seem to drop points to teams that have no realy chance of getting into the top 4. Should have buried Burnley but i knew we were going to either lose or draw against them.

Wenger says we can win the prem title...seriously i dont know what hes smoking but id like some...

I wouldnt be surprised if hes out by the new yr...hes too small time for Man City...he should go back to Blackburn lol:p.

Theres no way hes going to make Man City successful unless he buys all the top players in the world and brings them to Man City.

CIty, 1 point behind Birmingham and Spurs, one game in hand over Spurs, 2 over Birmingham, so at this stage they have more points out of the same number of games that Spurs have. Yes they should have won more lately, but they are the only side in the league with 3 new defenders playing in tonights game, aswell as new players elsewhere on the field, still WELL in contention for the top 4 almost half way with a developing side that hasn't kicked into gear yet is pretty impressive. Where were City this time last year, is it really hard to spot the improvement?

win the two games in hand and Arsenal lose theirs and they draw level with Arsenal while moving into third above Villa and Spurs, both of which were better than City last year, hardly awful, that would also put them 5 points off last years champions.

Awful performance, Theo choked with his one chance at a shot, miscontrolled almost everything. Classic Wenger, despite creating nothing in the second half, despite Diaby being beyond terrible, despite Silvestre(whose had two good games of late) being utterly awful at left back he refused to make changes. Eduardo on despite showing he can not play lone striker at all, made no sense, maybe bring an actual winger on, at the wing, Eboue or Wilshire were options. Eboue at left back maybe, stronger at the back power down the wing, though I will say Silvestre put in two fantastic crosses when he actually did get forward, but he clearly lacks pace getting back afterwards.

Getting very bored with Wenger seeing a system completely not work for so much of the game and be completely unwilling to change it. Push Theo upfront in a 4-4-2 and put anyone half decent on for Diaby, take diaby and theo off, play Arshavin and Eduardo upfront and put a winger on. But the one real choice he made was Eduardo, proven as a hopeless lone striker with zero confidence.

If anything i think its time Wenger sold Eduardo...he just isnt the player he was when he first came to the team...that ****ing dirty tackle from brum a few yrs ago has changed him completely.

Time to get rid and get someone who can finish in front of the goal.

Wouldnt be surprised if Fabregas is out for a few weeks...there goes our season.

Calm down everyone, only one team has gone to Burnley all season and won, Man Utd lost there too. Not an easy place to go by any stretch of the word. I assume that people just haven't watched much of Burnley this season? They are usually very strong at home, as it's their only chance of staying up.

Tell me more? What happened? I was all set to put him in my Fantasy Football team for your game against Hull....

He just limped off before half time, he was a doubt before the game so I expect it was probably that playing up, he was walking fine and it was a light'ish limp. He didn't really look disappointed so I expect it was a little bit of pain, few weeks probably

He's played about 180 minutes total in 2 years! Why is everybody so impatient in modern football, give the lad a chance :(

Eduardo didn't do much imo before that tackle.

He didn't do loads, he was far from first choice so hardly got any minutes, but some of his finishing before that injury was really, really good. There's a reason most Arsenal fans couldn't wait to get him back. Unfortunately he looks clearly off the pace atm, but Wenger is hardly playing him at all and he keeps getting injured nearly every time he plays. It's a very difficult situation for him.

Also (haven't read his post, using assumptions here!) I agree with dm tonight, Walcott was quite poor, again, looks off the pace. Injuries are really ruining the potential of this team, not only are loads of players picking up harsh injuries, it's really hard for them to get back into it and get runs of games (Walcott got smashed out after 30 mins when he returned the other week) as they are usually rusty for a week or two and then some idiot goes and injures them again. I wish some of the Arsenal players would give opposing teams a taste of their own medicine and dish out a few injuries some times (as awful as that sounds :D)
