It's actually not down as such. Just getting hammered because everyone's visiting it due to it being the last day of alpha. Plenty of people on the minecraft forums can apparently get on, though others can't.
 
The server logs from last night & early this morning show no crashes.

Server was down Saturday morning while it was being move to a Solid State Hard Drive.

Whitelist updated.

Mr jmiller did you see post number 2314 ?

noo i crashed an now it's full >.<

ah well back on laters to compact down the delay mechanism and refine the timing :p

it definitely crashed two or three times this morning. I forget the exact error message but it was something like blahblah write fail or something, each time rolling parts of the sever back to a previous save.
 
A little link for the players who question about the server roll backs & think its the host & not down to buggy minecraft coding.
Old server players understand about the roll backs & are use to them, but some of our newer members are not use to them so here is a post from the maker of minecraft posted 2 hours ago.

Roll backs happen there is nothing I all the host can do to fix it.
 
I forgot to add if the dupe bug is fixed I will be clearing out every chest on the server & everyones bags this way we will have a fresh start.
Its that or a new map ! (not going to have a new map unless the beta coding needs one like the halloween update did)
I will be making a item pack for players that will have a stack of tools in.
 
I understand this will upset some players & some of you had pre dupped large stores of hidden chest of dupped items.
But this is not the way the game is ment to be played it is a bug.
The dupe bug may still be there in the beta release.
 
Edit: nevermind, missread a previous post.

One question I have regarding a inventory wipe, Will you also be removing all diamond and gold blocks in the map? I ask because what is stopping a person duping a load of diamond, crafting into a diamond block and placing it, then once the wipe is over just mining that diamond block again and getting the diamonds back?

sounds reasonable, however that's rather a lot of smoothstone i'd loose. i'd rather not tbh :p


are exceptions going to be made for gold blocks? as they are used in the MC mania boosters, i dont fancy mining 9 gold ore blocks for every booster really!
 
You may think I'm overreacting or this is a snap decision post, but it isn't.

So because some people decided to use an exploit, those who didn't use it have all their chests emptied? I'm sorry, but that is a load of **** imo. A kick in the nuts to myself and no doubt Siew Wan who as far as I know hasn't used the dupe bug either.

I can understand losing items / chests of stones, wood that we've spent hours farming being cleared because of an update or the need for a full server reset, but because others abused a bug? ********.
