Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

Maybe we should only give out the URL to people by email when they request it here. I think it's time for a new map anyway.
 
good idea Darg. im sick of silly kids wandering on n ruining all the stuff.

also i think sensible building might need to be applied as telly tubby land really is trash comapred to the last map
 
Yea, colour is good in small amounts like in the stadium, it really brought it to life. But flourescent buildings are a bit too much. Maybe we should have a map that is realistic only. I'd love to try and make a proper city in there, give everyone a plot, map out roads, nice city centre plaza. First thing we'd do would be mark out the roads and plots then go from there. If we can get a 512x512 map it would be epic.
 
Not sure how to go about setting up a server and I don't have anything on 24/7 atm but sometime soon I'll be turning on my server full time for multiplayer testing of my own game that could be weeks away though.

Who is running the current server? Is it possible to have two running on the same box or should we just turn off the current one and create a new map?
 
I'm running the server atm.

I could run more than one instance but I decided against it originally because there was only 6-7 regular players and it would have just split the player load and left both servers half empty.

Now that the developer has changed his mind (it seems) on locking out larger maps in MP I'm waiting for someone to come up with a good larger map so we can run that.
 
I've started to build a more realistic map, having huge marios in the air and pink towers is cool for a bit but thats not what i want to build.

I've just started on my Naval dockyards, only problem is i don't have a static ip and my internet connection sucks for hosting.

I'd start playing again if that happened

I got fed up with all the bright coloured fantasy looking buildings :p
 
I think a fictional one with just interesting buildings from other cities. I think building loads of plain skyscrapers isn't going to be that fun!

Rroff what do you think? Do you want to set up a new map, see if you can get a larger one?
 
I'd be up for it... but when I try to use OME I get redraw problems flipping the map axis to draw to teh depth so I can't make a large map and no ones being helpful and providing downloads that I can find of stock large maps.
 
I'll have a look and see if i can make a map

Can't seem to figure it, I made a huge SP map but can't find it on my harddrive. gah
