Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

I think the stadium fills up to much space its amazing just too big and since the new map was to get more people in on it a massive stadium in the middle aint a good way of helping :D

I will destroy you! Its not in the middle..

Well time i spent on the game decided he earnt my 10 euros! Was 500th person to buy too! I demand a prize.

Same here just purchased it :)

Really enjoyed playing it earlier, we built the pyramid and then the (not so secret) tomb! :D

Someone had a go cutting through the stadium. I fixed what I had time to fix, the blue stairs, the stands where I could see, he took out a good chunk of the rear wall behind the stands and the two main stairs into the stadium and the ticket office. I fixed the ticket office but didn;t have time for the stairs.

Yeah, I'm not happy. Why are certain people allowed to destroy other peoples work just because they don't like it. There are plenty of things on the server I don't like, I don't go around removing them.

Cant really play atm, game keeps crashing with latest update.

Really we need to define the server rules again, The whole stadium/docks area looked pretty damn cool and was kept somewhat realistic. I logged on to find someone had stuck a big yellow skyway right overhead (Was Windle it turns out) which was practically resting on other peoples things. Now I got a bit miffed and started removing it since it encroached on the whole point of the area. Is it right to assume the area immediately adjacent/above/below your creation/group collaboration is your plot or was i wrong?

I have no interest in skybridges and floating castles myself. The question is do we respect boundaries.

Define boundaries, air and underneath something are open game. At a certain point there is little land left and constuction has to move elsewhere.

Personally I think your ship is fugly, I don't delete it. It's an open construction game, people can build what they want. As long as it's not going through your building or touching it then there shouldn't be a problem.

My main gripe is how you went about it, if you'd asked I would have considered moving it if you genuinely had a problem with it. Instead you deleted several hours of "work" that I put into it without asking/caring, essentially you were griefing.

Granted , it was wrong for him to delete it without permission , but if i built a giant wall around the stadium in yellow , would that be breaking any boundries ? It would sure break up the overall view of the stadium.

Indeed and i cut short of doing much damage. I was wrong to assume it had been built by one of the random joiners. That said the loading message states no random tunnels so underneath is definitely off bounds. Indeed theres a red pyramid your 1 block off somewhere on the map....really thats a bit ridiculous.

If you build directly on top of other peoples creations you ruin the looks/aesthetics people are going for. For me my enjoyment comes out of making the area look awesome in a realistic way which, up until that walkway it did. Theres a whole 1/2 of the map full of murals and floating palaces. Its not too unreasonable to expect the sky bridges and floating buildings stay on that side. Personally I simply wont play if we are doomed to that happening to every inch of the map each time. Admittedly this map is (or seems) smaller than the previous one, something to fix on the next one if possible - indeed i know its possible to hack the map to 4x size.

Whilst I was initially wrong I don't think its tantamount to griefing as that would apply malicious intent to cause destruction. On the contrary I (wrongly) assumed it was an attempt to 'grief' the looks of our area.
I did mention my displeasure the previous evening and no-one was able to say who had built it so in that circumstance its hard to know who to ask to remove it. Anyway I was oped on the 1st server and tried to protect peoples work. My goal is only the same now but just from inteference rather than destruction.

You can not compare building a giant yellow wall around the stadium to what I was doing.

Nor can you compare it to random tunnelling, it was planned and had a purpose. It rose at various levels and dropped elsewhere to go around most of the main landmarks in the map so people could see them clearly from above. The pyramid you mention was built by Fabio who later on HELPED BUILD MY ROAD!

As you mention, people get enjoyment out of different things, personally I wouldn't enjoy making an aircraft carrier but I'll put up with yours. My creation did not damage yours and it was still clearly visible. Your just taking the huff because you wanted that entire large section to be your area that you worked on. You also did plenty of damage btw, when your building that high up it is a right pain in the bum to fix and you know it.

The point you start saying what can and can't be built is when you ruin the point of the game. As long as you don't damage or remove other buildings the whole area should be fair game.

I jumped on last night and was getting performance issues/crashes.. somethings borked!

same here, mine is freezing every few minutes now, was there an update? Was fine yesterday morning then in the evening it was borked.

This just posted on the dev blog:

Hang bug in 0.0.21, can't fix until tonight.

I THINK the bug is caused by aiming outside the map.

I’ve rewritten the picking code to use raycasting instead of opengl picking. It got a lot faster and a lot more predictable, but I’ve got a feeling I forgot to check for negative coordinates. :-(

I will fix this the first thing I do when I get home. Sorry!

gotta say guys, awesome world! Definatly the best I have been on (well i only tried last night :p) Am on it now though and its gorgeous.
