Online seems a lot more fun but I've made a HUGE castle with external walls, hollowed out an entire mountain etc on singleplayer, don't really think I have the heart to do so again online

well in the ocuk server I made a comment about it's a shame the mountain blocked the view out of my window, 5 minutes later 7 people turned up and we demolished the mountain in a few minutes then built a huge glass water fall bridge

Freezes in what way?

Main culprits are graphics drivers or dodgey java

Try the download version, update drivers, update Java. If that doesn't work, find a really old crappy laptop. It'll probably run on that

could be java
or your graphics drivers (know it doesn't like onboard)
download the client, it's not big!
it seems to HATE some HP laptops (noticed at work) not sure why.

On a side note, still cant get it to run in the downloaded version

Java removed entirely, installed fresh...VGA updated and backdated

Onboard laptop video can do openGL as the display settings states it, unless theres a seting in there.

mine is an old 910GML I think...or in that series range.

Works fine online, didn't originally, then I upgraded my GC drivers...After that the online one worked.

But the downloaded one has never worked Gets to the login page...'updates', then conks out saying opengl drivers are bad

Just watched it, I proper Lol'd to myself when he says:
