Posted in the other thread too, but does anyone know if there are multiple ways of purchasing this or only Paypal? If it's the latter, then I'll wait for a week. :(

Edit: Done!

Freezes in what way?

Main culprits are graphics drivers or dodgey java

could be java
or your graphics drivers (know it doesn't like onboard)
download the client, it's not big!
it seems to HATE some HP laptops (noticed at work) not sure why.
It actually works today fine. And the browser would just lock up (tried a few browsers)

Using client now :)

Damn, just spent the last few hours creating my underground/inside mountain home, died and now I've respawned at the beginning again. I can't remember the way back. :p

mine is an old 910GML I think...or in that series range.

Works fine online, didn't originally, then I upgraded my GC drivers...After that the online one worked.

But the downloaded one has never worked :p Gets to the login page...'updates', then conks out saying opengl drivers are bad

I'm on an Intel Q45/Q43 here :(

For what purpose?

Is it to build some sort of mob trap?

Yep...all for the fun of it :)

Dang...thing i have is for the 910's...but there was reports of 945's making it work with the same thing i believe...

Anyway, try the below, mine worked straight away...just make sure java is up to date etc :) :

Note that this may not work for all but it works on my XP Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop with a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express graphics card (crappy, I know).

*Download latest Minecraft client if not already present
*Rename the downloaded Minecraft.exe to Minecraft.jar
*Open a command prompt (go to start, all programs, accessories, command promt) and type the following command : java -Xmx800m -jar "C:\Documents and Settings\Brandon\Desktop\Minecraft.jar"
(RENAME THE PART IN QUOTES TO WHATEVER DIRECTORY YOUR MINECRAFT.JAR IS IN)
*Should open up Minecraft with no problems :)

Credit to darknesschaos. After you do that you can open Notepad and put the command that worked for you in that and save as MinecraftStarter.bat and you can double click that to play minecraft, it will start it up with those commands for you.
If this works for you please post your graphics card and system specs so we know better who this helps.

***UPDATE: THIS FIX SEEMS TO ONLY HELP INTEL MOBILE INTEGRATED CARDS USED IN LAPTOPS.

found another way around for Q45
reinstall drivers for chipset/IG
all ok now!
but it's only showing 1 world? and it's none of the ones I've been using at home?
I thought it was all stored online?

First thing I always do, after building my initial crafting bits and a house, is build a big tower as high as I can, then put an arrow on top with lots of torches stuck to it.
Never get lost again :D

My main base, which is slowly turning into a mountain castle, is a long way from my spawn point.
At my spawn point i built a little hit with the bare essentuals. Also a big arrow pointing the way home, as well as a few markers on the way. Once i get nearer to my castle theres no missing it :)

Also ive read that a lot of people are finding a dungeon right by their spwan points, i found one.

I think i have got bored enough to start cheating, i was to make some big explosions. Anyone know how to get infinate stuff?

What I do is create a huge 1x1 tower of stone as high as I can, and at each side of the base dig a hole 1 deep, and at the very top I place lava. This way the lava flows all the way down (acting as a great light source, although not as much in some texture packs) and the holes at the bottom catch the lava to stop it spreading. That acts as a beacon for me to easily get to and can be seen from the spawn, and from there I set up any smaller signs I need to point to other directions from that point on.

Don't think so....not on Alpha?

There was a post a while back stating where they are saved on the PC....I'll have a dig

Well done for finding your soloution :)

Oh yeah...those two mob spawners i found....tried creating a water trap, and it didn't quite work :p

Oh the hell that ensued!!! Removed my last torch to start it spawning...and BAM! one came out.....so i ran backwards to try and block off the last remaining hole annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd....

dead :D :p

So I then had to go in and try and kill all of the remaining Zombs running around wildly in places they should not be! while putting torches around the crate again...I need to re-think this strategy.

Oh, and I now have a direct link to it from my home base underground :)

I just bought and downloaded this, my god it's like crack, I went to bed at 3am :(

It also turns out I have a mob spawner in an open cave about 75 blocks from my lair, I've currently walled it in but when I get brave enough I'll go in and put a torch by it :)

To be honest when I first saw the game I thought it looked rubbish but I was so wrong :p I can't wait to get home, start my first deep mineshaft and make somewhere to grow crops, I'm pretty short on coal right now though. :D

Currently rebuilding my mob trap :)

Also building a moat-esque thing at the front of my house-wall :p

So we'll see how it all goes
