Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

Try out the Minecraft forums maybe to see if others are having similar issues. I'm not sure how many people will be running on Ubuntu or similar.

What graphics card are you running?

Went on a crazy attempted sale around my island the other day, though I got a bit fed up and took a few short cuts so decided to see what it looked like in isometric.

(original image was 15000x8000 so this is compressed to hell but you get the idea of scale, still a bit big to embed though)

The blue shows where I had been before then and where I had been happily living and hadn't even explored fully so give a sense of how big it is.
 
Just spent the last 4 hours digging away then got killed and lost everything :( It's a bit annoying that even though I had a save game because it saves each time you exit I have no way of going back as I was miles from the spawn point and have no way of knowing where it is due to a lack of a map.

Performance is terrible in the game too!

This is inside, where they go under and down...then the items get pushed towards me where I can collect them safely :D

Oh...and added glass so i can see them drowwwwwwwwwn!!!! >:D

Going to make another one soon with lava implemented I think...also want to make a proper moat around my house thing :)

think I'm going to try and head straight down tonight, not made much progress really, keep being distracted! I may run out of picks soon tho! was down a tunnel with no way out last I checked!

Ah just dig by hand! Had to do that a few times! I always try and keep 4 wood with me, and a couple of sticks, so i can atleast biuld a crafting station and one pick axe :p

My mobs seem to have teleportation all of a sudden...keep warping through walls..i'm trying to dig around the egde of the dungeon so i can trap the boxes...but they keep coming through the wall :p Which is a tad annoying

drop pick and pick it back up, it will have full health.
 
Online seems a lot more fun but I've made a HUGE castle with external walls, hollowed out an entire mountain etc on singleplayer, don't really think I have the heart to do so again online :p
