Mini keyring-sized digital camera/camcorder

Mine arrived today, can any recommend a good memory card for it?

Sorry if I've missed a discussion on it, thread is pretty huge now.

I'm wondering both how to strap it to the bike, and if it's waterproof... I'm thinking probably not, but you never know!

Roughly an hour (: Hence 4GB being the best sized card to get as that will fill in about an hour. Though recordings are limited to 30 minutes on the #3.

Incorrect, they close @30minutes but it automatically creates a new file and continues to record.

Mine came with just the camera, a solid usb stick thing for connecting to a PC, a (key)ring and a manual. No disc, no cable, no box. I'm not sure if it's charging or not, the LED doesn't flash, just stays solid yellow when connected to the PC.

Wish I had a card to test it with, but I'd totally forgotten about buying this, and when it arrived I was like "WTF mate". :p

Mine #3 came 2 days ago and I love it. Really impressed by the video quality. Great fastened onto my bike! The build quality actually isn't even that bad!

Probably the best £9 I've ever spent!

Ordered mine off some random ebay seller along with a 4gb card. its a #3 and came with a proper cable and a driver disc. Impressed so far.

hahaha typical...mine seems to have broken already
Used it briefly while walking the dog and I don't think I turned it off after use. Now the light is on constantly, computer wont recognise it, none of the buttons do anything (can't turn it off) and to top it all off..the reset button does nothing! Tried opening it to unplug the battery but the connections are glued in place so i'll wait will the battery dies and see what happens then.

Both my #3's arrived today. Was a hell of a lot smaller than expected.

Just tested it with my 2gb microSD card and the quality is awesome for somthing so small and cheap. I also ordered an 8gb PNY microSD for 10 quid from play. :D

Ordered one on the 17th along with a 4gb Sandisk card. Card is here but still waiting on the cam. I want to play :(

hmm looking at the battery specs they are 3.7v 150mAh. You could probably replace that with three NiMh AA or AAA batteries and extend the battery life way beyond the small LiPo battery right? three 1.2v cells would be 3.6v and only 0.1v out, given that fully charged NiMh cells are around 1.4v it should be fine. Of course the memory card will be full long before the new battery pack dies but a 16Gb card will get you about 4 hours of video (albeit chopped up into eight 30min chunks).

What I'm thinking of doing is putting it into some sort of waterproof housing (with a couple waterproof momentary switches + LED), some NiMh batteries and a 16Gb card to put on the canoe when I go out :)

I've managed to make a camera mount for my cat's head from the open end of an old sock. Managed to get some good clearish footage of him chasing a laser about the house.

The main problem is that he moves so erratically (shaky image), and it came off when he jumped up a door.

How much is all that gonna cost? You can get a Vivitar DVR510N (Flip type camera) that is water proof already and has a standard tripod mount for £35. Might be easier.

The only answer is a miniature cat mounted steadicam http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steadicam :D
