i tell you what i dont understand and you see this all the time......``it's an import, so it has no rust at all``

but doesn't it rain in Japan too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No salt over there, they just use appropriate tyres. It is true, look at how my Silvia was off the boat with 180k km and 13 years on it.

Well kinda but ypu get middle aged business men buying a car and keeping it in storage to use once every blue moon and every so often these cars pop up for sale. Saw the cleanest ever rev 4 mr2 turbo 30k miles or less. Looked completely immaculate. 7 grand i nearly bought it. But went for the house instead.

there is that Evo 8 with only 850 miles in Ireland....but it's 30 grand :eek:http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...l-show-car-895-miles-1-owner-from-new/2284603

this is priced exactly the same as the Type R, both cars are brand new, the photos of the EVO dont lie

1.......Evo is faster
2.......Evo looks better

the Evo wins easily, that car looks beautiful, i'm so bloody cross that i cant afford it

90% of imports are the same, mainly stuff from Hokkaido which has rust on. For me, if the auction sheet has any 'S' or 'C' marks on it, then forget it.

I don't understand the whole JDM thing. Certain cars have different specs which makes sense but some people seem to think that a JDM car is somehow a magical unicorn despute it being 99% the same as a UK car

9 times out of 10 the JDM variant is better, mainly due to the lack of euro rubbish they do not have to conform to. JDM EP3's for example have a LSD as standard and more power, JDM Imprezas have a motor on a whole different level to what we get here.

My JDM Celica GT-Four will be 21 in a months time and the bottom, sills, arches etc are solid and free from rust. The car was imported in 2008. UK cars look like a fishing boat underneath unless they have had work done.

It's not in Ireland. It's in Birmingham.
The guy stored it for about 7 years then died. His wife put it up for sale on the MLR for £20k.
Wynfords bought it off her.
They've got quite a good reputation for having very nice cars. Albeit a tad on the expensive side.

Mal do you have any intention of buying this car? The whole thread sounds like you are fairly I'll prepared for smashing 15k into a classic showpiece Mitsubishi?

Why are you comparing this car to a brand new Type R? Have I missed something?

You were talking about your enthusiasm for drag racing and American muscle in the mustang thread the other day whilst regaling the readers of that thread with tales of how a Hyundai coupe is a better car than an S2000 because you own a Jazz.

I'm really struggling to understand what you're trying to do with your posts other than just confuse people.

+1 I have had a few fast cars but my favourite all round drive and most fun was with a Mazda MX5 not fast but fantastic fun to drive.

i would say the best i drove was the Mini Cooper 1300, it definitely had the best road holding, the fastest was the Firebird

the best car i've been in (but not owned) is easy..........JENSON INTERCEPTOR

best car i've seen on the road and the best sounding too, is a Drag race legend............Pinball Wizard, a Ford Pop with a 440 Chrysler and Nitrous. she's still around today.

extremely dangerous to drive, a high centre of gravity and a short narrow wheelbase, i've never seen a car accelerate as fast with such an explosion of sound.

Is this a thread about you buying a 5k overpriced evo, a 30K Civic, an integra an 850 mile evo, or just posting that you have driven an interceptor?

The whole thread couldn't be more off topic. Are you actually buying this overpriced evo or no?

i've just taken a look on the best import sites:-

Evos are selling really fast, or they're imported to order, so i'm going to have to move really quick...

i spoke to an Evo seller on Ebay, i've been chatting to him quite a bit but his car is too expensive for me, he said ``import to order, tell him what you want and wait for the car to come over, if you want a really nice Evo/ no rust....import only``.

i'm just chatting to Moogleys, but the general conversation is Evo based.

this thread is ``mitsubishi evo 6 worth buying ??``.........please note the question marks.

but i do have doubts about the Evo, so i might need to start another thread, because the Type R does have advantages and maybe the biggest is, the Honda dealership is just up the road, this is a big purchase so i have to get it right.

my heart is saying get the Evo, but my brain is telling me ``no, it's too old now and liable to need loads of servicing, get a new car and from a dealership somewhere close by``

And I'm done.
