Mmmm Mango! (preview)

Probably surprised your going from a dual core sAMOLED+ flagship to a single core (probably) snapdragon phone with less features/ability.

That's one of the reason, why I am waiting for the new Nokia's to be released. The forth coming Mango update should fix all the features / abilities that 99% people have.

TBH I don't really use the SGS2 as it sits on the shelf most of the time now, I just don't really get on with it....

So two Samsung phone specs have been revealed

As for the fall lineup, there doesn't seem to be a slacker in the bunch. The Focus S will have a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz CPU and an 8 megapixel rear camera that accompanies a 1.3 megapixel front-facing cam for video chat. Also bearing Mango is the Samsung Focus Flash, considered the lower-end offering by Sammy, which still brandishes a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen -- no Plus involved on this one -- as well as a 1.4GHz CPU and 5 megapixel rear shooter and front-facing camera that for now has no specified resolution. Each of the phones are expected to arrive in the fourth quarter, and the existing lineup should be on the receiving end of the update sometime "this fall." This is just the beginning of the impending flood, so we can't wait to see what else is around the corner.

US phones certainly but considering last years releases (Omnia 7 and Focus) I'm guessing the specs are going to be the same for the UK/rest of the world phones.

Just a shame they removed the 4" screen choice. I think it is certainly the best for the 800x480 resolution. At least it looks like they will be a reasonable step up from the current models though. Hopefully a little more RAM (for multitasking futureproofness) and more internal memory (16GB minimum IMO).

Just googled, so that's the end of windows 7 then. Next big update is WP8 codenamed Appolo.
Can't wait.

Wp8
W8 tablet
W8 pc

Can't find much info though about it.

Here's some good news from nVidia (well for 2013 anyway )

Is there any news on whether WP8 will work on first gen WP7 phones? I'm toying with the idea of getting a HTC Mozart, but don't want to miss out on updates...

Edit:

Anyone know any forums that might have stuff about visibility fo installing windows8 on android devices?

XDA or Modaco are the most likely places.

I doubt you could install wp8 out of the box so to speak. If you can wait a bit, it may be worth you waiting to buy a new wp7 phone. If you don't want to wait, the samsung omnia 7 is the best available.

I can't buy a new phone as there too expensive (Mozart is £150 second hand in mint condition). Had a look at the Samsung and there £180, do you reckon it's worth the extra? Thanks

I'd say so. But that isn't to say that the Mozart is bad. You can't really make a bad decision there IMO.

Definitely.

I think WP8 should be fine on all the current phones.

Just to make it more complicated i've just found out the HD7 can be had for £180. 16GB vs 8GB and 4.3" vs 4", could this be even better than the Omnia? TIA
