I think given that it seems you have no real idea what tyres you had fitted, its safe to assume you have a similar level of knowledge about the rest of the things on your car.
Therefore I am inclined to beleive that the clued up one in this thread is Bear.
no wonder you had oversteer if you have non existant tyres fitted![]()
I was all for giving this up but what about the personal attacks on me?
I'm the one who has repeatedly tried to diffuse this
What is it with the selective reading in this section
There are no personal attacks on you.
On the other hand you typed this..
"Oh STFU and stop going on with yourself"
A forum is a mixture of opinions, if you don't like someone's opinion, either reply constructively in a non personal manner, or don't reply at all
Also the point I am trying to get into your thick skull is that your opinion of the car was due to your experience of YOUR car.
.
(I got myself a B in GCSE Lit I am really proud of it)

What I don't understand is what on earth made you bring up getting a GCSE 'B' in english literature ?
To keep the thread on topic, I quite likes the 200SX S14a we used to have.
Modifying a car for capital gain is rarely possible unless you are building a competition car, and even then it's often a knife-edge thing.

Do they shout the same thing when somebody says they are going to buy a television or a home cinema system or gym membership or a new set of golf clubs?

The difference is that no-one thinks that TVs or golf clubs will appreciate in value if you tart them up a bit, but this country is full of people who think that if you spend £5k on mods on a £5k car said car is now worth £10k. Reminding those people that a £5k car with £5k of mods will be worth £5k if you are lucky is therefore a public service.

I dont think that is generally the case. I think most people that modify their car does so for what what ever reason (performance, looks etc) but in the first instance it isnt so their car appreciates in price.
They may not want to lose the money they put into their car but thats life.
