Modern Business Dress

Been wearing westcut and pocket watch for about a year now and have noticed others have started to don the the sleeveless little wonders since.

They look great, very professional with a dash of the dapper!

Go for it OP, if you feel good others will pick that up and treat you accordingly :)

I go for a more retro smart/cas work look these days ...

That usually involves chinos and a shirt with a brown leather laptop bag and various blazers or other tops ...

Love it!

Wrong. Robbie mentioned 'charisma' but I would say it's attitude and being comfortable in what you're wearing, although I knew what he meant. A decently tailored 3 piece definitely says 'Look at me, I'm wearing something that hasn't really ever been fashionable since, well, ever, in recent years, and yet I'm still going to wear it. That is exactly how boss I am.'

It's not about age and it's not about stature, it's about either feeling comfortable or not. Thinking about it, this goes for all business wear, 3 piece or otherwise.

No matter how comfortable i feel wearing it, I'd still look utterly ridiculous sitting here wearing a full 3-piece suit at my IT desk amongst everyone else who's' just come in with shirt and trousers. They'd probably think i was a bit of a stuck up knob to be frank

Also OP if you do go with the westcut, never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever do the bottom button up ;)

Normally shirt and trousers. Today, baggy jeans and project branded polo shirt.

For meetings and client things it's shirt and tie.

If you can pull it off why not, bear in mind some people may think of you as pretentious but frankly who gives a **** what people think? ;)

Also I'd suggest buying more than one suit - wearing the same suit, especially if it's going to stand out, every day will get people talking that you only have one set of clothes to wear.

Dress for the job you want and not the job you have!

I saw that quote somewhere recently :p

I don't wear the same type of clothing each day, sometimes shirt and tie, other times shirt and casual pullover with collar out. I do have a light grey tailored 3 piece but that's for important meetings only!
