Modifying OcUK

Sorry, sent you an email :o I just wanted to see if you (or I) could update the CSS on userstyles, please with some of the stuff I've done in my post above (20th Dec) ?

Willhub, there is a way to get it to work in Opera, here.

If you post whats been added here (as in post the code [ code] etc...) i'll add it to the another version of the style and post it up on userstyles.....

I have a few changes in my personal version to, so i'll just post another style each time it changes in case anyone prefers a different version.

I'm actually working on another style for here right now (how i spotted your post so quickly), and it's going pretty well, as i can see a few ways to do things easier then last time round..... any case it'll be up on Userstyles when done...

Naw, mines from my skydrive account. I'm just a little anxious about people knowing which one of the dark styles is the one to use. I do like the look of yours on userstyles, as it has a lot better quote boxes (dunno how I don't have that :p), but I think it would be beneficial to have some of the code for the fork of the code I use, like the colours for the different levels of admins and the comments in the css, so css-nooblets can understand what is what if they want to change things themselves. :)

Can't really miss it Marc! :D I just want there to be an updated consistant version; sure people can modify it to whatever they want, but it would be good to have a 'trunk' version that everyone can start from. :)
Wasn't sure if any of you lot visit GD on a regular basis. :p

And since no-one mentioned that thread here I wasn't sure. ;)

You're free to do what you want with the code posted.... by all means if you want to take the existing work and play around with it or create another version, then do it... and post it on userstyles.... it's free to register...

It was the reason for my bump a few posts up, so people only just hearing about it now can get onboard and feel welcome, even if they don't know a single line of code.
When I saw this thread had been bumped I just thought it had been bumped to continue the thread. Then I saw Spie's thread in GD and wondered if this thread had been bumped due to his thread. If you get me. :D

I guess, I don't want the grey theme to become fractured into lots of different sub-themes; seeing as your one has been linked into the GD thread about it all, it makes the most sense for your one to become the 'unofficial official grey theme', if you see what I mean ?

Also, as new users are finding out about it, it would be good to see what they want out of it. what they like and what they don't. It'd also be good to help them to do what they want, and if enough think the same thing, the to put it into the 'main' version.

Yep :D It's good to let the new users know this thread exists and they aren't on their own.

It's only a little CSS, so having a few different versions isn't going to cause a problem....

I'll post my Deviant green version up on userstyles soon(ish) so you can check that out...

If overclockers or the forum staff want to use the scheme in the forums they'll have to do it at a template level which will require it's own CSS, though if they are just going to pull out the CSS from the styles written here then that'll save time.

Templates for forums are usually CSS based anyway, so it should be a matter of making a few changes to the CSS file and it's done.... copy and paste the existing theme, rename it, code, test, show!!... :)

Can't say i see the point when FF users or Opera users can just install the style here....

I don't mind if the IE users get left on the blue theme... ;)

EDIT:: Sneak peak at Deviant theme

EDIT2::
See version 1 of this style here.

Got on pretty well with the deviant style...

Figured i'd make a few more changes in regard to navigation and search..

Version 1.0 is up here...
http://userstyles.org/styles/13587

Search is always loaded it's just hidden, so it was easy plonking that at the top, though it did break the search in the nav menu, hence that's hidden, it still means you have 2 options for search though, either in the header or the other search link shown on each page...

Tabs seemed cool for the nav, to be a little different...

Feedback anyone? :)
