Thaqt dazzling sunlight exiting the tunnel is probably the main reason for crashes, but I could be wrong.

The camera view makes the transition from dark to light look worse than it would be through your eyes.

I think that's more a camera limitation than the light being that bright.

Monaco looks fine for F1 racing to me

Hope Perez is ok, we don't know the cause of the accident yet.

Schumacher's lap looked good, great commitment throughout it.

There isn't any dazzling sunlight. That's just the camera. I've been through there (not at F1 speeds) with a tinted visor on and it's fine.

Guess with that sort of side impact you have very little head protection like the headrest provides for the head on impacts.

He put his hands up? Ouch - not a great thing to do.

Marshals forming a human wall and the cloths out - he's getting lifted out of the car and it's not looking good.

Yeah Brundle and DC were saying earlier that it's apparently not as bad as it looks on the TVs, as the human eye reacts faster/better than a camera.

It absolutely is. Far too many tracks with giant run offs that offer no punishment. F1 is meant to be dangerous, otherwise you may aswell just set a speed limit of 60 around the whole track and be done with it.

Yeah I thought that, don't think they're designed for side on impacts.

Was unlucky the impact was side on, front on and he's probably walking out of the crash .. or leg damage at the absolute worst case.

Maybe he's been knocked unconcious so it would make it harder to treat him and get him out. Hopefully that's as bad as it is.

It certainly looked like there was a lot of head movement. Fingers crossed he is OK.

I expect he would have lost conciseness and will have concussion. Didn't seem to be any penetration into the cockpit.
