Monaco Grand Prix 2011, Monte-Carlo - Race 6/19

I love Monaco, which they droped all the newer tracks and went back to some older tracks.

Or just get off the artsy band wagon and remove all the run offs, that would improve the newer tracks, get a bit of height change in them as well.

I agree on the hight change.......the last round of the fia gt1 championship was at the sachsenring. and my god that track must be the furture baseline for furture f1 tracks. not much run off, fast sweeping turns.......its a dream for racing drivers.

I personally like the track but can see why it could be taken off, safety and lack of overtaking being the main two (very little "true racing" happens in the dry).

The crown jewel status is weird though as it seems completely against the logic of tacking off other old tracks, there are many places around the world that are true classics from the gp calender and they are taken off for safety reasons when this remains.

Id love them to turn down the overly safe nature of some of the tracks (put barca back to its old config if they insist on going there) but it'll never happen, unless the plans for a breakaway series happens...

practice 1 is irellivent anyway..........:D

That's what im telling my self :p (and Mark Webber is holding on too as well)

Monaco is great because its something that simply would never happen now. If Monaco didn't have a circuit and someone proposed one, they would be laughed at. Its the shiny pinnacle of motorsport at a glamorous location. Yeah, the races aren't always that good, but its completely and totally unique.

I agree, and find the race much more interesting that tracks like Hungary and Barcelona. I'd drop those before Monaco easy.

I'd consider making it a prize money only event, but only if the prize money was massive. like say €75m that way all of teams would still take it deadly seriously, and imagine a lesser team winning a wet race or scoring high. That would set them up for the next season.

I am :D

Just peeved as p2 looked much better on my tv last week, the stream quality has gone down hill badly.

Do like the 5 live set up though (its said every time but its very good)

"stop it" :D HAHA

Yeah bbc got the tennis choice wrong there... (no idea why iplayer looks terrible but it is so annoying)

The directors are always local (hence why last weekend we got to watch Alonso getting lapped and do some average laps some times). Just this one has forgotten about the cars going around...

I posted this before and it didn't work.
I just tested the latest version and it's working well on my Windows 7.

Download the zip file on the right hand side of this page:
F1 live timing app

Unzip. You'll get three more zip files; unzip them, and then run the timing app.
You need a username on the Formula1.com web site.

Is it any better than live timing at Formula1.com?

I just use http://www.formula1.com/live_timing/# on the laptop, or their mobile app on the phone.

Has individual sector times, laps, weather, wind speed, speed traps, commentary etc..
