Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

I wonder if there will be a train this gp with a fast qualifier possibly hard on their tyres getting to the front, then falling off but staying out and holding everyone up?

Mercedes?

They get a lot out of the tyres, good for quali, race fail!

Can't wait, love this race.
So what little over taking (if that's the case this year), it's driver concentration. We don't need 20identical tracks. I love the fact that we still have one track that if you put a wheel wrong your race is likely to be over. We need more vacation in track choices not less. Over taking is just one part.

I think this could be quite good with the tyres noming so quickly. Still hoping for a Mclaren win of course :)

Same, but a lotus win :p

I wish I knew some peeps to watch the races with! Also I hope the weather is good, nothing more fun than after the race taking the car out for a spin! Hasn't been out for a while!

Agreed.

But as usual there are people who complain. We have modern tracks with massive run offs where the driver could make a cup of tea and discuss the weather before hitting anything, and they complain its boring and not challenging enough. Yet we then come to Monaco where the drivers need to be on it 110% as there is zero run off, and they complain its boring and processional

Personally, I love it, as I appreciate the skill involved in racing around it.

Massive generalisation warning

Mainly the more casual viewer that gets bored by it. If you just watch it like you do hollyoaks it seems boring with little overtaking.. You have to appreciate the skill level to enjoy Monaco IMO

Lewis will be hoping Mclaren don't screw up any more pitstops as he certainly won't be able to get the positions back on track. :p

edit: Lewis going for a 1 stopper to minimise the risk of a Mclaren ****up? :D

I don't think thats a bad generalisation at all really, I think its quite accurate. To the casual viewer Monaco is boring and processional, and I can totally understand why.

Your enjoyment of Monaco is very dependant upon the individual. Unlike places like Valencia, which are universally considered ****.

Formula 1 hasn't done a poll for a while. I imagine if they did one now 90% would say how rubbish the Valencia 'dock-yard' track is.

I've always enjoyed monaco, and to me it has produced some fascinating races, but then i enjoy the uncertainty of rain, crashes causing red flags etc..

The fact that you can just turn up to monaco and have dinner on Rivage, walk the track, go clubbing near Rascasse, or even used to park your bike where the nouvelle chicane is, just add to the experience.
