Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

It was fairly exciting tbh.

However, I got fairly irate at the complete lack of ability to overtake demonstrated by JB being held up by HK.
its wierd because last year there were more overtakes :S

i remember hamilton overtaking schumacher at the first corner (not on the first lap) and i think he did 1-2 others the same way

i remember schumacher overtaking hamilton cleanly at the hairpin aswell.

this year we had what? i bet all of the overtakes were schumacher letting people by when his fuel pump was failing

Interesting about Vergne needing to pit as he went soft soft so needed either supersoft or inters, chance of rain so went inters. Not completely stupid but the position he was in was.

A pretty boring race really. Like others I was a bit surprised Vettel got away with gaining position when he skipped the corner on the first lap. Hamilton signing a new contract with McLaren seems less and less likely each race :p

They certainly are making it more difficult for him. To be honest though, all Hamilton seems to want is money based on the current sticking point.

He is likely stalling to see how the season is panning out and what sort of car they are giving him. He's in no rush, with each passing week that he does well against Jenson his stock is rising. I would still like him to go to red bull or even Mercedes. The errors this year and the lack of ability to build a car fast from day 1 would have me worried, then this year when they did the team did their level best to **** it up.

A change might do him some good. What's Mclarens engine situation going forward? How long do they have the merc for?

hes looking at alonso still so probably never even checked his mirror to make sure someone wasnt the other side.

time and time again grojean shows us he has pace but cant race

Very very harsh! Either he knew there wasn't enough space (due to the shape of the barrier) or there was some slip from the dirty side of the track (its very off line where they both were).

Grojean has made a few mistakes but has looked a lot better than his first bash at F1.

I think a change would definitely do him good, but I am not sure if he could even adapt to a new team now. Not sure what has happened to mclaren since they parted ways with Mercedes.

Hammi to RB, Webber to fezza

If you guys hate the Monaco Gp so much why do you watch it?!

People hate all manner of race tracks but still suffer them in the hope that something might happen. Look at the bitching about Bahrain or Valencia for example but you never get people saying why watch it then.

I've always disliked it because there's little action on the track, it easy to control your position and you don't have to go anywhere near the limit of yourself or the car to achieve this.

It's not skill or race craft, they just can't get passed even if you ease off 3 or more seconds per lap. I understand the spectacle but I don't think you have to be anymore inch perfect than you would anywhere else if you want to win.

If say Jenson drives a perfect inch perfect race at spa its no less of a feat than Monaco. The difference is if he had 5 cars on his tail at spa it would be a much higher pressure situation than Monaco where he could back off and still win.

It must be amazing to watch live at the track, but on tv its dull for me.

Said it last year it's such a boring race, Qualifying is the real race here. Luckily been at a bbq all day so have been able to fast forward most of the actual race. These tyres are stupid also, Don't care what anyone says. Perez was lapping over 2 seconds quicker than the leaders at one point, 2 bloody seconds... It's daft.

Would be a tough race to pick highlights from :p

Looked so promising with the early SC too :(

Was he!? That is crazy.

Yeah what on earth mclaren are playing at I've no idea, Lewis was right to moan about keeping him informed about vettle, surely he could have pushed to try and keep the place? Too bothered about tyres I guess? He could have been laping a second slower by the end and still kept vettle behind him easily.
