Monaco Grand Prix 2012, Monte Carlo - Race 6/20

I thought you said it means nothing after 6 races and wait till the season is over?

Sorry, I meant to say... it's too early to talk about who is dominating who.

You say that Lewis is dominating Jenson, I'd hardly call the domination shots 6 races in with only a handful of points between them.

Button needs to concentrate on setup and quali.

Whitman disagrees with him.

Only bundle so far has scratched the surface and has actually said what I think is happening.

Still laugh at his Alonso is no threat comment after Malaysia :D

Funny how MS dominating was bad for the sport and would lose them viewers, now its too much variation :p

all those years at honda and button doesnt seem to know how to setup a car or how to push development towards his direction.

same **** at brawn always blaming the car

maybe button is like vettel and the blown diffuser made it easy mode for him :P now theres no rear downforce hes back to his bar honda days

A few poor races and suddenly he can't set up a car? Just.. wow. Also it has been said before that a car is never designed for one driver, it just doesn't work that way.

Didn't the 2009 cars have a lot less downforce than the 2008 cars all round though?

Either way, its always been the same with Button. In a car setup right for him he is brilliant, but he seriously struggles if things aren't 100% right. Clearly the McLaren at the moment isn't 100% right for him.

I still maintain that if it really was that unpredictable, a Toro Rosso would win a race.

The top four of the drivers championship is the same as the top 4 at the end of 2010. Red Bull lead the constructors table from McLaren. All that's different is that now Mercedes and Evil Lotus are up there challenging. Williams and Sauber also have some pace, but I don't think they will really be fighting for either title.

Exactly.

Its not random, its just much much closer.

Last year a McLaren driver making a mistake (or the team making one) meant they might loose a space to a Ferrari. This year the same mistake means they loose a space to a Ferrari, a Merc, a Lotus, and possibly a Sauber and a Williams.

The differences in the tyres and other things have always been there, but they have been hidden behind fundamental differences in the base performance of the cars. Drawing the performance of the cars together means other factors start to show through as providing the difference.
