Monaco Grand Prix 2013, Monte Carlo - Race 6/19

The radio transcript is very depressing :(

No you are wrong, it's awful. Chilton set a faster lap time than Alonso did in Monaco. F1 is becoming farcical.

Absolutely this, but I think a few here have missed the point of this comment. The fact is that teams like Ferrari are driving so slowly to preserve the tyres that a driver in a Marussia can set a faster time in the race (and we know how slow Marussia are based on their quali time).

Having Monaco in the middle of the tyre debate is a huge distraction IMO. It is a one-off track for increasingly irrelevant European sponsors (Singapore is the 'new Monaco' for sponsors) and basing opinions on it when the season is 20+ venues is not helpful.

Chilton has a rich father or he wouldn't be in F1. He probably has excellent credit, though.

This post sounds so bitter. Every F1 driver has to start somewhere. People were probably saying the same about Alonso when he was a rookie.

Unless Chilton turns out to be Grosjean V2 then he's a good driver.

The thing with Chilton (and others, not just having a pop at him alone) is that there are better drivers out there, drivers who don't have a drive.

Now I'm sure this type of thing isn't new to F1 or racing in general, it seems to be a lot more noticeable now than it perhaps was in the past.

So you didn't watch the 2013 Monaco GP, then? Chilton turned into Maldonado and caused a red flag incident.

If by turning in, you mean just taking the racing line for the next corner, then sure.

Besides, I didn't say he was perfect, I just disagree with the notion that he's only in F1 because of personal wealth. For all we know, the bottom 6 drivers on the field, if given a Red Bull Renault, could be world champions.
