Even if they had started on time, that heavy rain WOULD have red flagged it without doubt.

And even if they didnt do it on the rain alone, someone would have crashed blocking the track.

A red flag once it got heavier would have been fine. We'd have has a good 15mins at least of racing action.

It was perfectly raceable until around 20mins past the hour

Rain started before official start time, which was exactly why the start procedure was altered.

They could have easily raced on that track. The heavy rain didn't start until 20 minutes later.

Someone decided not to slow down enough, and someone else made a bad call on not to stop the race whilst heave equipment was on the track/run off.
