Lewis is being a big cry baby, just take the damn jewellery off when in the car and put it back on afterwards. Got something welded in, tough, get a screw cap instead.

any watching FP2? Can’t believe the first thing Danny’s engineer asks was “is the car okay?” Before even checking Danny was okay. Disgusting from his engineer.

I did think that was an odd first question, we don't hear all the radio chat on the world feed so hopefully the first bit got cut off

Yeah I hoped the same but even the McLaren radio chat doesn’t have it, so much they even removed the question and only posted Ricciardos “I’m ok” message on it.

I get that he hasn’t been great at McLaren but regardless you still need to value the driver over the car.

What happened to him? Having "fun" with our electrics today so I missed the first half.

He will be gone by the end of the season.

I always thought he was a tad overrated, never really under pressure and slightly flattered by people getting out the way when he overtakes, but I guess he’s struggling with the new cars/McLaren specifically. I can’t see what he offers to any other team currently.

I think he suited the blown diffuser etc but once they clamped down on that, he struggled.

For me on my sofa, the move to 2020 car (and this new gen) has been a bridge too far and he’s not adapated.

Ricciardo will be lucky to be on the grid next year.

I doubt he'll be off the grid, but I see a descent to the lower teams if he can't make rapid improvements. Williams, Haas, or Alfa would surely love to have him

Gasly or Colton Herta to replace him? Can't see Alpine letting Piastri get away to a rival team at about their level.

He's failed to really step up and prove he is really WDC material since, but he shined as a rookie, then rocked up and trounced Vettel in a team he'd just won four straight WDCs with, and had the measure of Max until his last season (and that was as much about reliability as anything else). He's also a great record of snatching wins in seasons where the car has seemed pretty ordinary, 8 wins puts him sixth among the current drivers and he never had a car like Bottas did under him to achieve that with.

Add to that an extremely media friendly persona, and you can see why teams want him.
