Wouldn't have been black flagged, but would have been a "please give the place back" message from the race director, followed by a time penalty if notWould he have been black flagged? What would have happened, because that's blatantly cheating

I think he was left out to prevent Hamilton undercutting Alonso? If Ocon managed to defend without giving away a penalty it looked like the optimal thing to do.Amusing thing about Ocon, is that if he hadn't tried to fight Lewis so much and end up pulling dangerous moves/getting a penalty, he likely would have finished in the points/p8 anyway, and Alpine would have netted more points for the constructors.
Sainz lost the GP stuck behind Latifi too. ShameAlbon was a bit of a naughty boy it seems, ignoring 16 blue flags when holding Charles up just before the 2nd pit stops. He lost a LOT of time behind him.

Alonso is fairly clever in my opinion, he made a mockery of the race, to show it's not a race and you can dawdle round and not be able to pass - he's shown that now, and educated those not really into F1, it's helped removing it from the calendar. Sure its a nice party weekend if you're there, but, not a good race.
Seemed like it was deliberate from Hamilton rather than not being able to keep up.In the end only because Hamilton couldn't keep up with Alonso when Alonso let it off the leash near the end. Ocon was right up with Hamilton at the finish, so that shows what the plan was.
It did seem a bit excessive for one or two points, but I suppose they had their fun and it would have made no difference to the finishing order anyway.
Difference being you can overtake there much easier, Monaco..theirs no overtaking.Indeed, Hamilton did this exact same thing in Abu Dhabi in 2016, trying to get the Ferraris past Rosberg. Schumacher produced a masterclass of it at Sepang in 1999, trying to help Irvine keep his championship hopes alive. I'm sure it's happened on numerous other occasions too which don't as readily come to mind.
I think the Alpine tactic was to ensure both Alonso and Ocon had enough tyres left at the end so they could both pump in big enough laps so that Ocon might stay in the points, but it didn't work out. No harm in trying though.

Fair...but..lets be honest..if you can remember ONE overtake from a back marker...oh dear..shows hwo useless viewing Monaco really is lol.Tell that to Gasly.

He only overtook under extreme circumstances, he had 5-7 seconds a lap faster tyres on when he did and could easily get the power down to overtake where he did, he was a rocket ship at that moment in the race.Tell that to Gasly.
I figure from 7th place, why not risk it?
If we are talking about risks, surely it would have been better to risk slicks early/wait a bit longer to go straight to slicks?
The one I always remember was at the Canadian Grand Prix in 1990.We don't get many accidents where cars are split in two, but nobody has mentioned Alex Caffi's 1991 crash in the same swimming pool section as Schumacher's crash. Very different to it, but with a similar outcome.
It's more likely that Hamilton held up Ocon on purpose rather than his tyres were gone.Worth noting Alonso saving his tires for the first laps after red flag meant he finished 5 seconds ahead of Hamilton. And it was Hamilton in the end that held up Ocon who was less than half a second behind through the last 10 laps.
Was actually a little annoyed they never showed Hamilton and ocon at the end of the race, they were the 2 closest cars on track.
Fair enough, I just wish they had shown us some of that. Certainly would have offered some pathos to the Hamilton was robbed crowdIt's more likely that Hamilton held up Ocon on purpose rather than his tyres were gone.
