Monaro VXR - 6 Months on

To be fair I've not driven it horrifically hard, however the only journeys the car has been on this week are:

Every morning 3 miles to work
Every afternoon 5 miles to second site
Every evening 4 miles to home

I'm doing a long drive this weekend down to the coast so I expect to get much better figures.

I filled up with 55 odd litres (£77!!) the other day so the tank was totally full and it said that should do me 270 miles.

I did mention the fuel figures in your purchasing thread and it seems you are getting almost exactly the same as me around town. On the short journeys I am lucky if I average 17mpg normally its closer to 15mpg.

I wouldn't be surprised if you get far better consumption on a long run. I have taken it to work when I do my contract work in radlett a few times which is about 90 miles round trip and got far better figures on longer runs, close to 30mpg in fact :).

I'll give you that to 60mph, there isn't that much in it, but once the e60 is at speed and the revs are up, it is much much quicker than the e39.

It's over a second quicker to 100mph, which doesn't sound much, but a second is a long time when measuring speeds.

I second what PeterNem says; yesterday on the A329M I had tussle with an E60 M5 and when I pulled over to let him past I had my foot flat and he really did leave me behind. I was shocked at how fast it was.

its quite amusing really what BMW have created.

Its a 200mph supercar with 4 doors. Awesome pieces of machinery.

Looks like this could potentially be up for sale within a day or two.

Basically I've had a bust up with my mom and it seems things are going to get pretty akward here now, so probably best I get my own crib.

How bad of a fight can you get in with your mum that it results in you moving out?! That's a really negative reason to be moving out imo, you should probably work on fixing things. What was the fight about?

Is it a downside though? Yes I'd lose my car but I'd also gain independence. I could always buy another in the future.

If independence was something you genuinely wanted you would have come to the conclusion and put it above having a nice car on your own, not because of a fight with your mum forcing your hand. What was the fight about, why can it not be resolved?
