Monster Hunter World PC (The official?)

Hey guys I have read quite a few people saying that the game can break your save file. Some people are getting a random crash that kills the save and others are finishing the game and it kills the save.

Backup your save file.

Feels very MMO like, but I am enjoying it and am keen to fire it up in 4K on my tv. Not hooked hooked, but it is fun and I can see that I have barely scratched the surface.

Was expecting a few more voice overs and the human animations are poor.

Runs flawlessly for me though, other than the known connection issues.

When coop actually works this is kinda fun. Was hunting a T. rex type creature and I put out an SOS flare. 3 randoms popped in to help and mid through the fight some kind of dragon swept in, picked up the T. rex creature and started fighting it and us. It was pretty cool.

Sometimes I'm getting framerate drop below 60fps now especially if other people join my game.

It's still very playable I haven't bothered adjusting settings still everything maxed out but not sure if my 8400 is holding me back a bit or if it is the game bugging out.

I know the other day a guy joined my game and my framerate was tanking for the 2 missions we done together and my framerate was fine again when they left. Other times I can play with others just fine.

couple of the guys i play with get framerate drops under 60, they both have 970s.
but turning off that fog setting (cant remember what its called in game) helps a lot, i think it looks better without it anyway

So the unofficial 21:9 MOD works really well, sure the UI is in the same place but I can finally start playing the game!

search for '' Lazy_Aspect_Fix_[MHW]_Bone_Idle_Edition ''

boot up the game to the menu shown below, press 'Patch'

The patch came out today guys it has fixed the network problems it searches much quicker now and I haven't had a disconnect.

Also the frame drops I was having seems to have completely gone away although it wasnt mentioned in patch notes,

Yeah this is my first monster hunter game and im surprised how complex using the weapons is. I thought it would be just mash mash mash but you got to press the right buttons.

I like it.
Yea I wasn't enjoy it too much initially because of how "chunky" the games's battle system felt, however as I get more experience with the game and can control my character better, it becomes more enjoyable.

The thing about all the weapons is that anyone can use them, but to do good dps one must learn to pull off combos (beyond the basics that they teaches) by chaining different combos together as effectively as possible. I guess it make sense since this game is made by Capcom, the company that created the Street Fighter franchise, so not surprising with the fact that this is game also belongs in one of those "not difficult to play, but difficult to master" category.

What weapon are you using now?

I have started using insect glaive and really like being able to get about in the air. I had dismissed it at first because I didn't wanna be messing round with insects and stuff lol.

Didn’t think this would be so short. Loads of people were bigging up the end game, but that is pretty average. Not worth more than a tenner tbh.
Same here, i was told it was at least 60 hours worth of content if you just stick to the story and about 90 if you do optional. Well im around 14 hours and ive completed all the story missions, now i just have "High level" areas with just optional quests to complete. It's not as great as i was lead to believe. I love character progression games with great stories so this was up my street and when i was told how much hours worth of content there was. Deffo isn't but i have got to admit probably more content than some games ive played.

GTA5 had more hours worth of content than this.

Are you sure you have finished the story?

I am 30 hours in and only just got to the part where you stop doing story missions and look for footprints. U assume the story gets going again after I have found enough footprints.

14 hours doesn't seem enough time to get to a high enough level to kill the stronger monsters.

Below details some of the game which may be a spoiler for some.

yea ive lead the big rock monster Zorah Magdaros out to sea on that mission after fighting Nergigante on his back. After that it just keeps giving me optional quests and keep finding those footprints of monsters who have wondered into different territories. If there is more story after this then i haven't completed it.

Sounds like we are in the same place I assumed it was the middle of the story.

I have only just unlocked the high rank armour and the + items so don't think im anywhere near the end. I have read a lot of reviews and forums and never read about anyone finishing in 14 hours. Most reviews I see are like 50 or 60 hours to finish.

hmm, might keep playing then because it felt familiar like you've completed the story but can keep playing like fallout doing optionals or something.

If you want to carry on with story just walk out of town and go collect the footsteps.

I don't think you need to do optionals at all but probably a good idea to do some now and get the high rank armour and weapons before carrying on.

In 2 days when overwatch season ends Im going to play a load more monster hunter.

A pretty lazy way to extend the story. Here it is all over again, but this time with higher ranked, but the same monsters. Pass. Glad I didn’t pay full price.

Yeah, keep playing. Still some way to go yet. It will get stale in parts when searching for footprints and MH isn't a game for everyone. I've loved every minute of my play time on PS4.
