Monzo/Starling Banking/Revolut

Fair point. Again that seems to add credibility to the request though that it knows my name through the link.
Yeah on a quick Google it looks like Curve are using Onfido for identity checks. This is part of Curve implementing KYC processes (Know your Customer). Looks like I've either forgotten I did it (I definitely wouldn't have done Passport as I have misplaced it) or it is a progressive roll out.

Cheers, Everything about it seemed legit but wanted a second opinion, especially as most the links in Google were dated 12 months ago.

Guess it's been part of their new sign-up process for a while and they're now just working backwards with older customers.

No worries - are you using the Curve often? I find I use it very infrequently as it declines so often?

It served its purpose though... I paid my student loan off with it and charged it to a reward credit card :p

Less so these days. I use my Amex card for 95% of my purchases so my Curve is mainly just a back-up for when Amex isn't accepted.

Can't say i've noticed any issues with it when i've tried to use it though. The biggest complaint is when withdrawing cash and there's always the extra step where you get told that the card operator may charge for cash withdrawals as it's recognised as a credit card.

I have however noticed the rewards side of thing has been much improved recently. 25% on Kindle books/20% at Laithwaites wines for example means i might start using it more.

Yeah I spotted that too - I understand Curve have signed a partnership with Samsung Pay too so they're only growing "more credible" as time moves on. Like you, I use my AMEX for everything. Where that fails I use my Amazon card (for Amazon) and my BarclayCard (which also now has rewards!).

Presumably however you could link your Curve card to your Amazon and Barclays cards to make it easier? or does that middle man element mean that Amazon transactions don't track as being Amazon?

If Curve could go back to using Amex it'd be an absolute result!

Yeah I was thinking why I hadn't done that as I wrote the post lol - it doesn't recognise the passthrough vendor.

I missed out on both attempts of Curve using Amex but you are absolutely right!

I use Curve for 99% of my card payments either using the card itself or through my Google pay account, the only time I don't use it is for fuel as it's not accepted by pay @ pump.

I think I've had a single decline in the 12 or so months I've been using it, the only other notable issue was a double charge on my card due to a communications issue according to Curve but that was sorted very quickly after I dropped their CS a message.

I've had very few problems using my Curve card. It did mess me about a lot when I was in Brazil in February last year. I'd used the card loads over the previous week or so and it had been fine.

I arrived in Sao Paulo, filled the rental car up with fuel and that was fine but about 20 minutes later when I wanted to order an Uber to my accomodation it kept getting declined. Curve support were absolutely useless and rather than trying to help me just suggested I used another card (I already had at that point) and that I should try again later. I tried again later to buy dinner and it still didn't work. Again, they were of no use.

Do Starling allow you to setup bills pot style splits yet? That's the only thing I'd really miss from Monzo.

No but they allow you to have multiple accounts. I have a bills account and a spending account. You can however only tie your card to one account at a time.

I used to use Monzo but then switched to Starling.

I was well impressed witha feature of Starling I#m not sure everyone knows about, I had a royal mail refund cheque for £27, I scanned it in the starling app front and back and they put the money in my account in 2 days!
