Morning emergency. Toilet tank lid broken

A break.....

This looks like it *could* be a match but need to check when I get home.

Uder £40 too.

Do you keep a bucket close at hand for such instances? :D

Surely if you would have spent more time 'crafting' your item then it would have re-filled.

No we don't :p

I didn't realise the toilet had been recently flushed or that the tank was filling. If I had realised either of these, I would have brewed it longer for work.

No I don't know the intricacies of a toilet flushing mechanism. The few times I have filled one up - done it through the tank, never been a problem before.......until today :o

Well here's a clue, the force of the water rushing in to the pan takes the waste away, so chucking water down the pan, works exactly the same.

It's not really very 'intricate'.

Seems a bit pointless, pouring water into the tank to then flush it, you do realise how toilets work right?

The water goes from the tank into the toilet.

:p:D

Thank you. I always thought you put it in the tank. Any way moving on from my lack of knowledge of toilet flushing.

Oh and you'll not get off that easy on here! Don't worry though I'm sure I can think of a mountain of occasions when I've done something of similar daftness!

In case of the worst case scenario.....I needed to get the whole toilet replaced. How much time/money will a plumber typically take to fit one in?
