Mortal Kombat

The tattoo thing was a tournament "invite", had nothing to do with their powers. The odd thing about the movie was the tournament never happened, presumably that happens in part 2.
They really seem to push the tattoo, arcana thing in this movie. They wont train Sonya because she doesn't have one and she figures out her super move in 5 minutes after getting one etc.

I enjoyed it. Way too short though, and Cole winds up seeming a bit pointless. I mean, they literally could have taken that character out of the movie and the only major change needed would have been the modern-day opening scenes. They could have opened with Sonia & Jax instead.

Kano & Kung Lao were excellent.

Shame they both bit the dust :(

Good movie? No.

Good, fun, Mortal Kombat movie? Hell yes, the best of the bunch easily. Also, way better and more entertaining than the ****show that was WW1984.

MMA guy had the most backstory of anyone and was the worst character in the movie lol, Kano was brilliant, overall I loved the movie for what it was. New Rayden sucks compared to Christopher Lambert.
Yea. Not a fan of the new character, Kano was decent and the new Rayden sucked. No comparison to Christopher Lambert.

6/10 from me and most that because of a strong start, nostalgia and decent fighting scenes. Overall a letdown and does not come close to the first MK movie.

I want to give this a shot hope it better than the original but after watching the trailer I really miss Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung.

Just watched it one of the better video game based movies, I thought the start was great, scorpion and kano were the best part and I wanted to see more of them, I'm Not sure about cole he may have worked if they used someone better to play him and a little more to him Sonya blade did a better job then him.
Lu kang looked a little tiny compared to what he should look like.
I thought Raiden was bland as bland could be, they could have had a stone statue and it would have done a better job.
other than sub-zero the outworlders are forgettable. they could have gone into a little more detail so non gamers could understand it a little better.
Some parts are a little confusing.

If they make another I hope they recast some of them.
Just watched it, what a load of twaddle.
I presume it is something to do with a video game.
Yes based on a very popular video game franchise.

You've never heard or played Mortal Kombat?!

I've heard of it hence my question above but never played it, I am 63.
The last games machine I played was a Mattel Intellivision.

Not much chance of that considering it was in the news a ton in the 90s with the fatalities and blood getting a massive spotlight drawn to them.

I never saw any of that, I know that Grand Theft had a bit of bad publicity.

Thought it was quite good as a brain off exercise, as said the outworlder use was average, goro needed to be saved and use more of the original characters. Could have had a movie on sub zero and scorpion. Those immortal "get over here" words were left too late. Kano was probably the best bit of it.

If you think you this was bad, you should watch the 1995 version. I would give the 2021 version 5/10 and the 1995 version 2/10
I would agree 4/10,
Lack of acting skills
rushed in some areas

the parts with kano and scorpion were much better if it was all like that it could have been much better.
