Most arrogant profession?

My God, what is it about these people? It's not just doctor's receptionists, though. It's anyone that fulfils all of these criteria:

  • Woman.
  • Over 40.
  • Receptionist.

One of my parents friends came round for dinner who was a doctors receptionist. Evil woman, just spent the whole time babbling on about volunteering for charities and talking down to everyone.

Brain Surgeons?

Estate agents, without a doubt. Have been looking at houses a lot recently (and finally applied for one over the weekend :D ), and I've had to put several of them in their place recently, including the one who's selling my house in weymouth.

They are, in general, self important dicks.

when i purchased this house, it was up with just the one agent. when i first enquired, i spoke to a chap and we got on well. the 3rd time i called him, he started getting funny with me over my reluctance to put in an offer, he said something along the lines of 'look, it's been reduced a lot already'. i didn't speak to him again and just over a week later, the seller put the house on with another estate agent. i called them, spoke to a nice lady and a deal was done about a month later.

I didn't have any problem at all with our estate agent. It was the 'independant' mortgage advisor that worked at the agent's that was a nobber.

Yea I bet he did. Love the part where the brand new car he bought elsewhere was in stock with the deal completed that same day. Usually the prestige places are not able to let you take a used car same day let alone a factory order.

Making stuff up for the lose?

He doesn't say the guy turned up in the Bentley, he says he turned up in a £130,000 car. He could quite easily have turned up, pointed out he liked the Bentley he was looking at but decided not to offer the business due to the salesman.

Prestige car salesmen purely for this story about my friends dad:

He is a VERY well off man, when I say well off I mean owns hotels and restaurants around Europe, is a business partner with Marco Pierre White, and so on. Anyway, looking at him half the time he dressed pretty normally and sometimes a bit scruffy so you wouldn't always think he was well off. So on this day he went out to buy a new car, at the time it was the brand new Bentley Continental GT convertible as a weekend car for him and his wife. He goes to a Bentley dealer and wanders around for a while until one of the salesmen comes over and politely asks him to leave! Ridiculous I know. Anyway, later that day he pulls up to that same show room smartly dressed in his £130,000+ car, finds the salesman who asked him to leave, tells him about how much he loves the car, thanks the salesman for his 'help' and on a final note ends with something along the lines of "it's a shame you missed out on this commission though."
:D :D :D

Is Pretty Woman his favourite film?

He implies the car has just been bought though as the salesman would not have missed out on the commission had he already owned it. It's just another variation on a story that's been doing the rounds for years. Few salesmen will judge on appearance especially places like Bentley as they know better.

I have never dressed up to visit a prestige dealer and never had an issue.

Teachers.

Not all, but a large portion think they are something special.

Working in a school, i agree wholeheartedly. Somehow they believe that they are somehow mentally and academically superior to you. I'm I.T admin and get treated like crap, the T/As and other support staff don't even register on their radar.
Also, doing a lot of private jobs for firms with brokers/bankers etc.. christ they are both dumb and arrogant.

Bin men (yes, seriously). I neatly arrange the bins at the edge of my drive for them to collect, they proceed to empty them and then chuck them all over my front garden and drive, sometimes even hitting my car. Then they stop their trucks in the middle of the road and hold up the traffic when they could simply pull in.
Absolute *******

Telephone sales people who try and come over as your friend and use your name in every sentence! "Can I call you Peter"................ "NO!"

Most workers in computer stores (or specialist retailers in general) who make out they know their subject when they clearly don't. Is quite good fun to mess with though!

Advocates, doctors, teachers, car salesman, assistants in my local builders store are a bunch of stuck up idiots

some students I know, suprisingly....nothing to do with wealth (as they have none), but the ones that go to the better university here in Bristol, ****ing love themselves.

My friend just this weekend, got talking to a broad in a local club, she asked what uni he goes to, he said the lesser ranked one and she literally turned away and that was that.

There's a strong rivalry between UWE and UoB though. It swings both ways.

It's exactly the same where I work.

Support staff are treated like a completely different breed.
