MOT fail thread

Where do I even start with this.

Obviously a rather corroded sill, but wait!
There's something in there..

Anyone guess what it is..

Not sure?
Well let me help you with that..
For some reason that I'm unable to fathom, the person that previously repaired that sill had somehow managed to leave a hammer in there

I mean, It's not like losing a 10mm socket down the engine bay is it?, and why put it in there in the first place, let alone weld a plate over it?
I'm beginning to believe I'm living in a very glitched out matrix.

It's a structural hammer*.

Now you've taken it out the car is going to fall apart and fail it's MOT ;)

*It also provide a mysterious, untraceable knocking to ensure the owner brings the car back in a few weeks.

Unfortunately or fortunately that car is now being recycled into baked bean cans, so I guess it may in part cross my path again one day.

Previous guy knew what he was doing, leaving that hammer in there was as a sacrificial metal. Without the rust would have been worse . Surely you'd hear it rattle around when driving, although thinking of the average Micra driver not sure they'd notice:p.

I wasn't expecting to see the Micra again so soon..

It's almost like I'm a psychic, but that Micra bean can is living it's best life screwed to the inner wheel arch of a Ford Ranger.

Don't ask, because I've no idea..
Just, just don't ask

What was left of the coil spring after the customer took an angle grinder to it and adorned the suspension leg with what looks like some of his decking..

It wasn't in for MOT, but it was driven to us like that with the space saver spare wheel fitted.
The spring had snapped, dropped down the leg and impaled itself through the sidewall of the tyre.
It's no wonder I drink too much.
FWIW, it was a Jaaag.

Seeing posts like these, makes me glad I don't have to deal with the general motoring public anymore.

Although somebody I work beside, did manage to fit a new side repeater last week, and send it for MOT without actually looking at it.
He was a bit sheepish when it failed for being white, as he'd fitted a clear lens instead of an amber one
