What have you done to your car today?

I kissed a curb a few times with my fat wheels.. happens to the best of us, doesn't make us a bad driver. Asim with his typical mac10 attitude.

Lads you do realise that we are talking about a woman parking here and not the most experienced either. She has been driving for about 3 years now and runs this car back and forward daily. I would agree that the condition of the wheels on the car she uses is not high on her list of priorities, then again show me a woman where it is?

At the end of the day it's £60 on a set of wheels for a really cheap car. I will show some photos of the damage to the other wheels when I start to give them a clean up and a refurb and you can decide for yourselves :)

Mate its asim18, I really wouldn't get even remotely wound up by his 'opinion'.

How comes your omitting half the stuff just to suit yourself?

You've omitted the fact that at least three wheels have been destroyed hitting the same piece of 2 foot long kerb to the point that air is leaking. And you've replaced it with "kissed a kerb a few times with my fat wheels".

Why? You cant just go around changing details like that to suit yourself and then you accuse me of having a "mac 10 attitude" what on earth is that lol.

My attitude is very simple and to the point, I'm not angry, I don't have a missus who's incompetence has created a financial liability, I'm not trying to kiss anyone's behind, I have got nothing to worry about, therefore I cannot have any attitude except one of pure rationalism. If that's what you're referring to as a "mac10 attitude", then so be it.

How is a simple and general opinion that people who cant drive shouldn't be on roads, one which someone cold even possibly get wound up over? How could you get wound up over that? I'd be concerned about your overall mental health if you find yourself getting wound up over basic general logic as such.

I can see why you'd get wound up over it if you actually cant drive and is therefore raising self-consciousness, but as the statement stands it is very simple, and I can say it however many times I want.

People who cant drive should not be on roads. Don't like it? Well boo hoo.

If you find yourself getting wound up by that statement then the issue lies with said person, not me.

 What happened? Warranty paid for it?
Suddenly started misfiring like mad, stalling etc. After 6 weeks of diagnosis and replacing parts, including various VANOS bits on both banks, they decided the crankshaft had failed, and as analysis showed bits of swarf all around the engine internals, it was RIP and new engine time! A few days to get shipped over and then about a week to fit and test. Fortunately all paid for under warranty, as the engine alone lists for c. £20,000!

Feels a bit weird to be running in a 8 year old car!

I'm talking about my self, hence the "I" at the start of the sentence.

But then you follow on to say "doesn't make us a bad driver."

You've created a group through vastly differing circumstances. Unless you were meant to write, "doesn't make me a bad driver." in which case you would have fully differentiated and therefore had a completely separate independent statement, in which case I wouldn't even have bothered to reply to you.

no I was talking in general, kerbing a wheel doesn't make you a bad driver as has been said before. I kerbed my wheels a few times over the past year not to a point of loosing air but to a point where some dings appeared. Yes I do run every aggressive fitment tyre wise so I've got no tyre protectors or anything and first point of contact is always the rim but still, it happens to all of us and if not you're lucky enough to not live/park on narrow roads or tight parking spots.

people who live/park around high curbs, tight spots etc will sooner or later touch the rim.

especially on narrow roads where every inch counts so getting as close as possible to the kerb is a must.

Good lord. And to think that many people would buy a cheap bottom-of-the-barrel car like this whilst believing it won't be a risky venture..!

Give it a rest now please... can we get back on topic (rather than being pedantic with your difference of opinion).

Thanks - Armageus

Well, I woke up this morning, saw the sun was shining and remembered I have the complete day free. Therefore, my task was to set about changing the crankshaft position sensor o-ring on the Mini as it's weeping oil, which they all do a bit. The easiest way to do it is to remove the entire front engine (plastic bumper, metal bumper, A/C radiator, radiator assembly).

So I got my tools ready and went outside ready to take the job on. But then I decided it was too cold, put everything away, went back inside and got a cup of coffee :(

I want it to be summer again :(
