MOTOGP 2018

Mental race. Thrilled for Cal!

I'm a huge MM fan, but no idea what he was playing at today. Even with his stall, if he took too the pit lane to start he had the pace to win.

Maquez needs to be given a break for a couple of races. He's riding like a mate who's bought a new 1000 super sports for summer but who has no idea how to ride it. I'm far from the quickest rider around, but Marquez seems to be adopting my Gran Turismo tactics from years ago - can't make the turn? Stick your opponent in the wall, bounce off and it's all good.

Reckless from Marquez, madness from race direction over the delayed start (I believe the issue was too many bikes starting from pit lane). MM should have been escorted to the pits when he stalled. And I was surprised MM wasn't black flagged during the race. And there was the Canet incident. Overshadowed Ca;'s win, which I thought was really well fought.

This is absolute chaos. Teams can’t just leave the grid n delay the start. So harsh for Miller. He made his mind up, took the gamble and was ready to go when all the other teams were messing around

Riders have every right to leave the track on a warm up lap.

The ones that left should just have been made to start from the pit lane like the rules state.

The riders/teams ***** up pure and simple, they had a free choice of tyres exactly the same as Miller had, they chose wrong, pure and simple.

Make them all start the race on the ones they freely chose, then come in after lap one or two.

Or like the rules clearly allow, you can leave the race track on the warm up lap change bike, but then start from end of the pit lane after everyone else has passed the exit of the pit lane.

If more than one starts like that you have to leave the pit lane in single file, and cannot overtake until you have passed the end of the white line delimiting the end of the pit exit lane onto the race track, there is zero safety concerns over that.

The rules are very clear, and completely cover the situation that arose.

They just made up new rules on the spot, because otherwise Millar would have had such a huge lead he would almost never have been caught, and obviously the "golden boy" cannot be touched or given such an obvious disadvantage.

But any start that gave Millar such a huge advantage as that would have been just and correct as he was the brave one making the hard call, and ultimately got zero benefit from it :(

Then MM .........WTF

He should have been black flagged for turning around on the gird, not a ride through.

Once he knocked Rossi off he should have been black flagged there and then, and should probably be banned from next couple of races, as he should never have been on the track in the first place.

I know, I don't have a problem with them leaving to the pits on the warmup lap but the mass exodus on the grid when they realized they'd screwed up was just wrong.

But yeah, completely agree with what you said, single file out of the pits is a good idea; way better than putting them 3 rows back!

Also, what has happened to Lorenzo? I can't see him staying at Ducati much longer and in his current form, not many factory teams are going to want him

The track was damp, Jorge publically stated a few years back whilst still at Yamaha that he doesn't like wet races, & that fear is lodged in the back of his skull & comes out to haunt him from time to time, it's odd really as he can occasionally have cracking wet races but the majority of the time he just can't seem to get on with a wet track at all.

Marc is going to take some beating this year !

It's always the same at that circuit, he is always miles ahead.

There are plenty of other circuits where he will not get it all his own way, and some he will actually struggle.

Its still very wide open for the championship yet.

I just see him as the fastest rider on the grid who still has no fear and this year the bike seems way less sketchy .

Can't blame him for that one today atleaat

Poor pedrosa still doesn't have much luck

Disappointing race, Cal falling off early on followed by the Dovi/Lorenzo/Pedrosa crash ruined it for me. The factory Yamaha is looking like a dud this year too, by the time they sort the electronic the competition will be out of reach .

MotoGP 2018 is becoming a snoozefest with MM93 running away with it. I hope he grows some balls and give a different bike a go. Staying on the fastest bike and running away with everything, is going to make the championship a little boring. Hopefully Mir in 2020 comes in and gives him some competition. Otherwise the next few yrs are just his for the taking.

So Lorenzo has signed with HRC for 2 years, out of the frying pan into the fire??

Definitely going to be interesting to follow, hell of a lineup. I hope now Lorenzo has a win under his belt that he'll go well the rest of year to make Ducati look silly.

MM93 will have the chance to show just how prodigious his talent is.

Soooo much news today! MarcVDS staying with Honda, and taking little Marquez joining them. Cal missing out on Pedrosa's HRC ride and Lorenzo getting it was a shock for me - where did that come from!? Looks like Petrucci for Lorenzo's Ducati.
