MOTOGP 2018

Don't think I've ever seen such a thing before, Romano Fenati in the Moto2 race decided this was a good idea..

Got black flagged and banned for 2 races, even that seems a light punishment really, short of full Road Rashing someone off their bike hard to think of many more dangerous acts to do!

Banned for 2 races, thats insane!!
Instant ban for the rest of the season would be leniant punishment tbh.
Shocking to see is an understatement, the speed them guys are going, the last thing you need is a mentally unstable nut job riding around with you.

Cal said it best, the guy should have been given the hoof from the paddock immediately and race license revoked.

Plus he has previous for similarly dangerous manoeuvres.

Cal is never one to mince his words, he was spot on with what he said. The other two seemed to scared to say anything to bad.

I saw this yesterday and today that he has been sacked. I don't follow Moto GP, so I knew nothing about what the above poster mentioned. Having just seen the video of that incident, with Fenati kicking a fellow rider's bike. He clearly has a some issue with not being able to control himself in heated moments and you can't have someone like that racing motorbikes professionally, so good riddance.

To think he was the chosen one to ride VR46's Moto2 bike, before he lost his temper over there and being fired. Bagnia took that ride, and guess where he's at now ? Winning the championship and getting a motogp ride in 2019.. No wonder he's a little upset ! lol

This thread's not had much love in the last month, but more great racing yesterday. Last corner was heart in mouth stuff.

Will be really interesting to see if Yamaha have truly turned a corner or not come the next race.

Motegi is a Honda owned circuit, so even if they have found something with the Yamaha and it does well, it will still be outshined by Honda, as that's where they develop the RCV. This thread has died a death cos of social networking. Most people go on FB or twitter now to discuss MotoGP.

Yeah that's true, should be a lock for Marquez at Motegi. But it would be something if Yamaha challenge for the podium.

I don't think it's just down to social media. MotoGP just doesn't have the viewership it deserves, I really wish it was more popular. Imo it has the greatest display of talent on view every week in motorsport, the margins are so fine and individual riders have a greater influence than many other series.
If you check the subreddit for MotoGP it's nowhere near the scale compared to F1.

Even for talking irl about MotoGP I have one other friend who watches, whereas I can find a dozen people to talk to about F1.

Not sure what MotoGP can do to improve this either as I feel like they have nailed a lot of important aspects over F1 already.

MotoGP is great but not a patch on british superbikes. That for me is the best motorsport entertainment I get, then it's probably speedway gp with motogp in third.

They shouldn’t have gone onto BT in my opinion. I’m a BT Sport subscriber and forget its on half the time! Its general presence in the news and public consciousness is very low outside the hardcore fans.

With F1 disappearing from free to air tv next year they would be better served raising their profile on BBC like before there is an opportunity there to attract the lost F1 fans.
