Alcatel it idol s is in the same price bracket and has a micro SD slot and lte, I haven't read any big problem reports about it and it's been out since Nov last year iirc, I considering it for my kids.

dunno if it helps, but it whips my HTC One S, which is overclocked and modded to buggery.

On the down side, I fear my headphone socket is broken, keeps dropping out to the internal speaker and stopping playback, appears to affect my headphones and cable to hifi, hopefully a reset will sort it but I don't hold out much hope.

Wonder how much grief I'm going to get trying to get Tesco's to repair it

Only to some people....

My son has not even changed the launcher never mind the ROM on any phone EVER, he just uses it. He reckons his new Moto G is just the same as his Ascend Y only smoother........and much drier

Now speaking for myself, the longest any of my phones/tablets has remained stock was a week

moto g comes with 4.4 that's the point.. idol S is already 2 releases behind.

also launcher, keyboard, clock and weather app are all easily replaceable on android.

Nova Launcher Prime all the way for me, did use the Google launcher for a bit but can't beat Nova's customisation.

Guys, my dad's got a Moto G and it was all good until it updated to 4.4, now the battery runs down quickly... Looks like something it keeping it awake.

Tried Wakelock Detector, but it says it needs root on 4.4. Any other app That could tell me what is killing the battery?
