I wonder what will happen to Rob Smedley? I can't see him having the same relationship with Kimi as he does with Philip.

I am sure he said his time as race engineer would be over once Felipe goes, he will be looking for something further up at Ferrari or elsewhere.

Indycar, Nascar or bust?

Another Rubens?

Massa has said in the past he doesn't want to buy a seat, so he may well be out. Pretty much all the competitive seats in Indycar are accounted for, and in any case he'd have to get used to non-power steering and running fast on cold tyres. :p Barrichello's experience suggests that it's no cakewalk.

He has even less chance of being competitive in Nascar. Ask the Ganassi boys about that (Franchitti and Montoya). ;)

He should just leave F1, anything now is just going to be rubbish compared to Ferrari, 2nd most races for Ferrari, 4th in the number of wins, 3rd for poles is not all that shabby for a career and kind of makes comments like he was not good enough for Ferrari a bit laughable :D

If he stays in F1, he'll end up being another De la Rosa/Barrichello/Heidfeld.

Could do a hell of a lot worse to be fair. He's already well on his way to being a Rubens what with playing second fiddle at Ferrari to multiple world champions!
I'd like to see him stay in F1.
Really looking forward to confirmation on who is getting that Ferrari seat, presuming it's Kimi. Could end up being that Ferrari have confirmed he has gone and have Hulk lined up if Kimi says no. Wouldn't be a bad move for Ferrari if that did end up happening.

As much as I think it's right to replace him, can't help but feel for Felipe, he's a nice guy.

If he does plan on sticking around I actually think a new team with less pressure could do him well, wouldn't be surprised to see him driving a lot better in a lower team.

just read confirmed too

could well be massa to sauber and hulk to lotus

though personally i wouldnt take massa if i had the decision to make

Lotus should ditch Grosjean, although Massa hasn't exactly been a clean racer in the past few years, hitting hamilton, trashing his suspension on that same corner a couple times a couple years ago. Seems to crash an awful lot more than Alonso, but still less ridiculous, less bad and less racing incidents than Grosjean. Lotus without Kimi can't get as good a no.1 driver to replace him and I think massively need two new drivers. A less good no.1 but a better no.2 to compensate and hopefully be not too much weaker. They'll lose points without Kimi but they can gain some back improving on Grosjean, too inconsistent, to dangerous, too stupid to be a F1 driver.

Massa and Hulk or Di Resta wouldn't be a bad line up, Hulk and Di resta would work as well to be honest. I really don't want to see Lotus struggling along with just Sir Crashalot as their no.1 driver.

Also not exactly convinced that just Massa's crash was responsible for his seeming lack of speed since then. He wasn't a flat out no.2 before Alonso joined, competing for titles before he joined. I wonder if being a no.1 at any team might make him push harder. Quite a few drivers who get stuck in that no.2 role just stop trying basically.

Using an insulting name against Italians to attack a Spanish driver? top quality. I though the mods had said such name calling would not be allowed on here?

Dago is a shortened form of Diego, a Spanish name. It's still occasionally used to refer in a derogative manner to those of Hispanic and Portuguese descent.

So report my post if you're that offended, and let the mods decide. But I would point out that I was only saying something that I've already said on here a couple of times before. And I don't believe anyone ever complained before now :)
